Stephon Pettigrew and E-town were knocked out tonight by North Hardin. I'd consider it an upset since E-town won the previous two meetings by a combined 30 points.

If this was the case, and the QB was getting hit while carrying out his fakes, then that is just good football by Pikeville. Anytime a QB looks like he may have the ball, he is fair game to the defense. Like I said, I wasn't there, but if what you all are saying is true, the Pikeville players were just doing what they're supposed to do.

I wasn't at the game, so I am just a curious fan, but were the late hits on the QB while he was carrying out fakes on runs or was it after he had thrown the ball?

During the Mike Jackson era, Oldham Co. used to be competitive against every school in the state. They have gone through a dry spell of talent in the last couple of years, and it will take them a while to get back to where they used to be. Probably won't be the best game for X. Won't really give them a feel for what they need to work on.

After the 2004 season, Oldham graduated about 20 of it's starters. During that year, they didn't even have a freshmen team because numbers were so down. Only about 4-5 kids that played against South in 2005 had seen previous varsity action before that year. Don't kid yourself, Oldham was extremely down last year compared to previous years, and will probably continue to be that way for at least 1-2 more years. They just had about 2 straight years where they struggled to get many incoming freshman to participate, and it is really starting to hurt them now.

Now just imagine how many Greg Oden would have dropped on the All-Stars if he was going to play... Anyone got a final score on this scrimmage? Who looked good for the Senior squad?

Dewalt's put-back dunk against Mason Co. in the finals was quite possibly the nastiest dunk I have ever seen. A close second was in 2003 at Rupp Arena when Warren Central played in the first round against Calloway County. Dewalt was a trailer on a fast break and caught a pass at about the free throw line. A kid from Calloway tried to step in and take a charge, but got there a little late. Lonnell proceeded to raise up and just absolutely crush on him. He then stood over the guy and did the same dance that he did in the video. A little unnecessary, but the crowd went absolutley nuts. The guy was extremely athletic and had quite a future in football. It's a real shame that he couldn't get it done in the classroom.

Being suspended for the rest of the year, and with about a month left in school, are we certain that OJ will even pass the 11th grade? I don't know how the Ohio school system works, but missing a month could do some serious damage to a kid's grades.

Three Lions, where is David Wood headed? Looking at the stats, it looks like he is one heck of a player.

Donta is actually back with the Atlanta Hawks now. He was called up in March and had a vey nice game about a week ago. Scored like 13 points in 27 minutes of action against the Nets. Also had a pretty nice dunk that made the Sportscenter highlights. He was an excellent athlete in high school and I would have loved to have seen him play for the Cards. I think he could have done very well in Rick's system.

:thumb: Forest always seems to have Oldham County in the hunt for a Region title year after year. I think the last 3 years he has lost something like 16 players to graduation, but always does a great job of reloading.

You did say, however, that Vic wasn't working the game when the altercation happened. You are wrong on that. You can't put this on the J-town administration, either. They didn't go to the judge and get this thing postponed. It sounds like Montgomery is all about himself. If you have a problem, take it up with the KHSAA, but don't punish the kids. Does he really think he has any chance of reffing this game now?

Today's Courier-Journal covered the story. Here is what Supposedly happened.

I think you're confusing two different situations here. While you are right that two officials were scratched from the Male-J-twon game, the ref in question was not one of them. He was, however, involved in a altercation with another ref during the sixth region game. Supposedly the ref in question, Vic Montgomery, is the one responsible for informing J-town that the two refs were Male graduates. Another ref took exception to this and Montgomery and him exchanged words, with the altercation spilling out into the Louisville Gardens arena. They were both escorted out by police and Montgomery was replaced by another official. He was then scratched from what was supposed to be last nights final because of the altercation. He filed the court injunction because he felt he was done wrong by not being allowed to ref the game. Either way you look at it, this guy is a joke. He ruined a once in a lifetime experience for some kids. I don't think you'll see him reffing many Louisville games anymore. Most teams will scratch him as soon as they see his name on there list, and rightfully so.

Doesn't seem like this would make him very popular.

Those two aren't good enough to turn a team around that much and make them National Champion contenders. Last time I checked, it takes 5 to play, not two. If they want to make some noise in the tourney, they need to go to a school that is already pretty good.
