These teams dont deserve to play in the state tournament, Russell and South Laurel. Oh yeah, John Hardin only got 33in their game, these teams should possibly cancel basketball and concentrate on another sport.

I agree...if they can't do any better than making it to the Sweet 16 (like Russell) or winning a state championship followed up by an elite 8 performance (like South Laurel), they really should consider other options.

Im not quite sure why we play basketball in Kentucky anymore. 20's, 30's, 40's. The coaches of all these teams are whose to blame.

Some teams just had that one lucky game to knock the BEST out!!! It happens, just bad for "that" team that had the best season and had the dream team for a second year in a row..... But that is over now...

Graves held them to 37 in regulation. South scored 8 in the OT.

Although not totally taking up for Russell, because we really did not play very well, however, Maybe I was not giving Graves County's defense enough credit. They held Russell to 27 then South Laurel to 37 (in 4 quarters). Maybe Russell didn't put up such a bad showing. That or all three teams don't deserve to be there. It's got to be one or the other. It can't be both.

Russell was notorious of this all season and the past few. This team can score 50 -70 a night if the reins were taken off. Glad it's over. :jump: :jump:

A game is 32 minutes and in that 32 minutes Graves and South only scored 37 points. Dont you think that is a disgrace to the game of basketball and these teams dont deserve to be at Rupp? Most people think we should get some teams in there that can SCORE.

Maybe, just maybe teams are playing a little bit of defense. That has been one of South's best qualities is their D and Graves sure brought their's today as well. If you are only looking for higher scores, then bring in the shot clock. Otherwise team's holding it for a couple of minutes at a time and playing 8 minute quarters does impact the scoring. BTW, the coaches are apparently teaching their teams to play defense, a lost art with too many teams.

 

To say that South Laurel didn't belong in the Sweet 16 is the real joke and it takes all credibility away from any arguments one might make. South is the defending state champ and brought back 3 starters from that squad. They bring back 3-4 more next year. They are one of the better teams in the state right now, and they just got beat by a team that did what it took to get the job done. Hats off the Graves County for getting to the Final 4.
