Congratulations Oldham

Tough loss for Gallatin, I know they will bounce back.

Where's 'Shasta'..maybe Oldham's a little better than you thought....Pretty convincing win over gallatin, at Gallatin last night...

Good win for Oldham, it is never easy to win at Gallatin.

"Shasta" is here...thanks for inviting me into the conversation.

I am not sure about what I am supposed to be convinced of. I did not see the game, so I don't personally know if Oldham played well or Gallatin did not. Gallatin is a very tough team and I know that they will bounce back for post season play. I still believe that South Oldham is a better team than Oldham Co. However, as another poster said in a different thread, Oldham Co has Coach Gary Forrest and that sometimes makes all the difference. If anything, I am guilty of underestimating any team that he coaches. However, the two teams (Gallatin and Oldham) only played once, so I would be interested in seeing how things would work out in a rematch - which could happen in the regional tournament.

What exactly do you call convincing?? It was a 2 point game going into the 4th quarter. I will say that Dunlap came alive in the 4th quarter and Payne scored all of his points in the second half. As a matter of fact, the lead hung right around 5 points for most of the 4th quarter. Is that convincing?? Don't know about that. Outscored by 10 points in the 4th quarter isn't convincing.

The Wildcats were not connecting on the first part of their 2 shot free throws. But the turnovers were diminished from the Walton game.

Personally, I think Oldham County is lucky that Gallatin missed their three point opportunities last night. I may have just been a 12 point swing the other way.

Not to take anything away from Oldham County, they played on a day's less rest. I think they will go far in the 8th region tournament. Coach Forrest does a great job. Gallatin didn't play a full game...........again.

If Gallatin is going anywhere this year they need to get better at the line. They missed alot the other night at Walton. I know I know they made the one that counted, but seriously that is one part of there game they need to improve.

Gallatin is still playing on dead legs. They have not played well since the Class "A". Hitting free throws would help, but they have won all year missing them. Getting out rebounded like they did last night will put a loss up every time. Oldham scored at least 40 points on put backs and foul shots. At least 40 probably more. Sometimes they would get 3 to 4 shots before they put it down.

Didn't Oldham beat South both times they played this year?

Yes, they did. I still feel that South is the stronger team. If both teams play their best ball, then IMO South wins.

I have to say the Colonels are better. Defense and rebounding are still the keys to winning basketball and Oldham does both, especially defense, better than South.
