2007 Mr Basketball drops 48 against all stars....

Featured Replies

Steffphon Pettigrew was the best player on the floor tonight, as he swells up and scores 48 points against the Ky All Stars. Not sure how many rebounds at least 15, 3 blocks, numerous steals.

Unbelievable!

He will be a load this year for E-Town, but the question is will there be anyone to get the ball to him?

BTW, when did they name the 2007 Mr. Basketball? ;)

I am sure he meant 'Mr Basketball Candidate for 2007'. He certainly is that. What a performance!!! :scared:

Actually, he probably meant Pettigrew IS the 2007 Kentucky Mr. Basketball. Talking to several colleagues in Kentucky, they all agree. He is going to have a banner year and E-Town will ride his game as far as Pettigrew will take them. He is definate force.

Exactly. Etown has some surprises up their sleeve! If the refs don't shackle Steffphon he goes for as many as he wants each and every game. I don't see anyone being able to stop him. He scored from everywhere on the floor, inside, outside, free throw line, 3 point line.

I have watched every 2007 candidate play and the only player I thought that was going to threaten Steffphon's Mr. Basketball title was Haddix from Scott Co.

Now just imagine how many Greg Oden would have dropped on the All-Stars if he was going to play...

Anyone got a final score on this scrimmage? Who looked good for the Senior squad?

Kentucky Allstars by 8. Please note that Thomas Coleman did not play for the junior team.

And he is ineligible isnt he?

What if he blows his knee out or is in a car wreck?

Pettigrew would still average about 25 points and 10 boards a game and get my vote.

That answer matches your feeble question, don't you agree?

A feeble question? Maybe its a feeble forecast to go ahead and name the 2007 Mr. Basketball in June of 2006.

The point is it would take a blown knee or a car wreck to slow Pettigrew down. There are other players out there such Ty Proffitt of South Laural, Matt Walls of Scott County (who I believe would come out ahead of Haddix in the voting even if Haddix is eligible), that could certainly make a case for Mr. Basketball. Pettigrew can score, defend, pass, and rebound in all categories with anyone in the state. There is one mistake I have certainly made here and that is I have not taken in consideration in one of Kentucky's notion when it comes to Mr. Basketball. And that is, not always does the best senior player and performer wins the award. Sure there will be challenger there for Pettigrew, but as today Pettigrew is the top player in Kentucky high school hoops.

I am curious to what shooterx3 opinion is. Any comments or thoughts?

From the talk on here HE is definitely not going to be a surprise to anyone.

Just curious of your meaning - is there some other surprise or something in Etown?

Thanx

No doubt Pettigrew is a warrior and a great player, he does nothing but win

for you, I'm not sure he is the best college prospect in the state though. He is going to have to show that he has the perimeter skills to play the 3 spot to be a big time college prospect. I think he does on offense, I'm not sure on his defense yet. But if I was a college coach, I would love him on my team. In regards to Walls, he is also a very good player who can score in buckets, but he is not as athletic as Haddix. Haddix still has the ability to make those Jaw Dropping plays that very few players can make.

If you are going to talk about the best players in the state for 2007 you will never get a consensus, but you certainly have to include Ty Proffitt in the discussion, Anderson from Warren Central, and there is probally another one I may be leaving out :D

If part of your criteria is getting a division 1 scholarship or the level of d-1 offers, it will be a very limited list, Probally 5-8 in Kentucky for 2007

With the majority of them playing for Derek Smith All Stars:thumb:

That good enough commentary for you Stripes?:D
