  1. I apologize guys, I have been out of town all weekend without computer access. Gonna take a flyer here and see how it works out for me. Legends select BUF RB Marshawn Lynch
  2. One of the few original members left, Legends will be back for one more go around.
  3. As long as Kevin Gregg is the closer, I will never feel safe with a lead. Hendry dropped the ball on not bringing Wood back.
  4. Anyone else find it strange that the minor's names were given in the article?
  5. Sonny Vacarro is the driving force behind this, proving once again how terrible he is for the game of basketball.
  6. Solid outing for Z, started out a little shaky but I'll chalk that up to opening day. Bullpen (Heilman, Cotts, Marmol) came in and looked pretty solid. Gave up a run on a cheap bouncer and that's it. Everyone besides Lee and Fukudome looked solid at the plate. Hopefully Derrek will come around. I'm not so sure the Kosuke thing is going to work out. Gathright and Reed Johnson will probably all platoon at that position with him. Excited to have Bradley on the team. Held my breath when I saw him roll his ankle on the first base bag, but it seemed like he just tweaked it and will be fine. Soto may be the best catcher in the NL. The way he handles this whole staff is amazing. Had a real nice throw down to second to nail Tejada after blocking one in the dirt. The kid can do it all and I couldn't be happier with anyone else behind the plate. Once again, Cubs have a lot of potential this year. I would feel a whole lot more confident if they could re-open the Peavy trade talks, especially with Harden on the mend. I think were solid with Z, Dempster and Lilly, but getting Peavy would be huge. Being a Cubs fan, I will hold off on any predictions, but I will say I like this team more than last years.
  7. Very being the key word. It seems like anytime I watch a college basketball game and the officiating is awful, Tony Greene is one of them out there. He is flat out terrible.
  8. I don't usually question BCG, and I thought he made some great adjustments in the second half, but if AJ Stewart quit the team on Wednesday, how in the hell is he in for the most important play of the season on Saturday? Absolutely ridiculous and I would be extremely upset if I was a player on the bench that got passed over for him. Why not Liggins in that situation? I don't understand some of the substitutions he makes and this one really doesn't make any sense.
  9. You laughed when I said she was a bigot. She is a bigot. You changed the subject again (imagine that). As RM said above, you don't have to come out and say you hope Obama fails, it's obvious that you do from all of your previous posts. No point in arguing with you as we are just going in circles. This site is about 98% conservative, so I'll just leave it be.
  10. So even though she thinks all Muslims are terrorists, refers to Middle Easterners in a derogatory way and uses a slur to refer to John Edwards as gay, she's not a bigot?? Can you explain to me what a bigot is, because obviously I have the wrong definition. I don't get mad when someone questions Obama or his policies in an intelligent matter, but I do think it is unnecessary to hope he fails just because you don't like him. Like it or not, he is the President and we need some good news in this country. The last eight years under the president conservatives gave us have set us back farther than we could have ever imagined.
  11. Are you really comparing our POTUS to a nut job like Coulter? Please go google Coulter and look at all the stupid comments she has made over the years. Just a few consist of her claiming women should not be allowed to vote, using a slur to describe a former VP candidate's sexual orientation, saying Christians view themselves as "perfected Jews", and that every terrorist in the world is a Muslim. Coulter is a whacko and a bigot. It is scary to think that some actually share her views when it comes to certain things.
  12. In you link, it is stated that Canada sent 240 soldiers to monitor the cease-fire in South Vietnam. It then goes on to say the following: The Canadian government believed that because of its membership in ICCS, that Canada had to remain impartial during the Vietnam Conflict. While Canada as a nation was not involved in the fighting, Canadians themselves formed the largest foreign contingent in the U.S. military during the Vietnam era. Although exact numbers are not obtainable, some estimate that between 30,000 and 40,000 served and that 12,000 Canadians actually were in American uniforms in the war zone. The Canadian Armed Forces won a Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts in Vietnam. Seems that while Canada may have sent a few hundred troops to Vietnam, they had no intention of them fighting. 99% of the canadians involved in Vietnam went because they wanted to and fought with the USA. It's splitting hairs, but Coulter referred to Canada sending troops to Vietnam as being comparable to the number of troops she felt Canada should send to Iraq. She goes on to say: “Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?” Does she really think 240 troops would make a difference in Iraq? She may not be technically wrong, but I guarantee she believed that Canada sent more troops to Vietnam than they actaully did. Also, this thread has nothing to do with Obama. Coulter is arrogant and bad for politics. How you can say the same for Obama is beyond me.
  13. Well she may not back down, but I wouldn't say she's quick-minded. Coulter is just another thing that's wrong with American Politics today. Close-minded, arrogant, and as seen above, usually wrong.
  14. When UConn plays like that, they can blow out anyone in the nation. UL played right into the Huskies strengths, and got embarrassed because of it. Thabeet is all that and then some. What's scary is that he is still very raw. He is going to be special in about 5-6 years.
  15. I see a lot of smiling from Williams. Adrien beating his chest and shadow boxing towards the student section is something I don't see from Terrence. Don't try and play the homer game, I'm no Card fan. Adrien is a player, but the antics get old fast.
  16. Too many antics for me. He's a monster, but I could do without the theatrics after the whistle.
  17. The only way to negate him is to go to the basket as strong as possible. Louisville is playing tentative against him, and he is making them look like a little kid going up against their Dad. Kid is a freak and is still so raw, can't imagine what he'll be like in about 5 years.
  18. AK and Ole Miss doing an excellent job of making someone besides Meeks and Patterson beat them.
  19. The patience UL showed against the 'Cuse zone was absolutely outstanding. Putting Clark and Williams at the free throw line put the Orange in a bind and allowed for some easy finishes. Pitino had a great gameplan for attacking the 2-3 and the Cards executed it to near perfection.
  20. Did anyone see this last night? Player for Houston gets called for an offensive foul against Budinger for Arizona, then proceeds to stomp on his face as he steps over him after the whistle. He gets a flagrant foul and is ejected, then the camera pans over to show him laughing and getting some love from his teammates as he leaves the court. Watching that on TV burned me up. Can't stand cheap shots like that and it was one of the worst I have seen. Hopefully the dude gets suspended for a couple games. No place for that in sports. Budinger Stomped on by Houston Player
  21. Harris is one of the most inept offensive players I have ever seen. I get chills every time he touches the ball, just has absolutely no confidence whatsoever in his offensive game.
  22. I really don't have a problem with getting rid of Pie. I think all Cub fans had high expectations for him, but he has yet to produce and the Cubs are more of a "win now" team than one that can wait on him. Johnson and Fukudome will split time in CF and they should be fine there. The starting rotation is a bigger concern for me. Harden has a minor tear in his throwing arm, and with his injury history, I'm very concerned about his status. Rothschild has already said he's not even close to being ready to throw off the mound. Z and Lilly are a solid 1-2 right now, but without Harden it gets shaky after that. Marshall will be good for about 25-30 starts this year, and Samardzija will get a chance to be the #5, but getting Peavy would be huge if that's the route the Cubbies decide to take. Either way, I think were solid with Marmol and Kelly Gregg as the setup and closer. I think the biggest offseason move that will come back to bite Chicago is getting rid of DeRosa. With him you have a player that can play 5 different positions and is one of the more underrated hitters in the game. Also a great teammate who was one of the leaders in the clubhouse. Absolutely hate to see him go, both on and off the field.
  23. Didn't see Walter last night, but I know he is a big fan of the Louisville nightlife. Have seen him out several times on Bardstown Road.
  24. Saw most of the players down at 4th Street Live last night, don't think one of them had to spend a dime on drinks all night.
  25. Fitzgerald is a STUD. Best WR in the league right now.
