  1. Headed to UK Elite Camp in June. Dad is supposedly a huge UK fan. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get an offer when he comes to town. Gonzaga, Air Force and Virginia are also in the mix. UNC wants him to let them know before he makes a decision (backup plan for Lawson?). Kid certainly has the "Wow" factor when it comes to highlights.
  2. He may have more potential, but how long are you willing to wait? I've seen John Riek play in person and he is extremely raw. Footwork is terrible and he gets winded after only a couple times up and down the court. I'm not a Carter fan by any means, but at this stage of the game he is more polished than Riek. Reik may very well turn out to be a decent player, but right now he is a huge project.
  3. UK doesn't have a shot anyway, but right now Riek is basically the same kind of player as Jared Carter, but less conditioned and more raw. You really think that would be a huge pick up?
  4. John Riek has been put in a tough situation. He will almost certainly have problems getting through the Clearinghouse if he does try and go the college route, but he has been so bad in his workouts that the NBA is not the best place for him right now. I've heard some scouts say he was the worst player they have seen in this years draft class and is no where near ready for the league. Of course that hasn't deterred numerous players before him that took the exact same path. It's kind of a sad situation because Riek is just another in a long line of foreign-born players who has been brought over to the US and been taken advantage of. He's been told by so many different people that he is ready for the NBA and that couldn't be farther from the truth. He is extremely raw and would do well to spend at least a couple of years in college. He's only 18 years old however, and barring any serious knee problems (which is a big if) he could turn out to be a decent big man in the league.
  5. Soriano has been out of his mind the last 2 weeks. He already has 2 HRs today against the Pirates, the second day in a row he has hit multiple HRs. That gives him 7 HR's in the last 6 games. Just unbelievable. If Lee can get out of his slump, look out.
  6. Opposed to now, when we only get to see a bunch of losers on FSNOhio 150 times a year.
  7. What a get for the Cats. Ferguson is a top 10 player in the class of 2010.
  8. Harrellson says he'll have a decision by Tuesday. Down to UK and St. Louis.
  9. Sounds like they're stealing my material.
  10. The Wonderlic is overrated IMO, and it's far less important for WR's than say a QB, but a 6 on it is BAD. The kid can play for sure, he's a first round talent but off the field issues caused his stock to plummet.
  11. Not a Michigan fan, but with all the talk about the Wonderlic test, I can tell you that Mario scored a whopping 6 on it. Course work must be a little easier up north...
  12. FWIW, Caracter was in attendance at the Derby City Classic last night...
  13. Saw Earl down on campus today. Definitely the right move by him, and he should have a breakout junior season. Word is DC is really pushing to come back as well, and the final obstacle is whether Pitino really wants to put up with him for another year or not.
  14. Earl probably played his way into the first round after his showing in the tourney. He could go through workouts, play extremely well and turn himself into a lottery pick this year. If that's the case, he is gone. I still think after testing the waters he comes back though. He'll have a monster year next year and truthfully isn't ready for the league yet.
  15. Hamilton has had very good classes coming in for a while now. It's what he's done with those classes that has put him on the hot seat.
  16. Tough to say. RR will bring the talent in, no doubt, but at what costs? Some of the guys he brought in at WVU made a lot of people wonder, but he won't have to be that desperate at Michigan. Only time will tell.
  17. You're looking at two very different styles with Carr and Rodriguez. Some kids aren't going to like what he brings to the table. Next year could be tough on the Wolverines, but I think this will be a good hire in the long run.
  18. You know Buckeye fans cringed when they heard that one.
  19. Game times in the West bracket don't even begin until 2:30. The times usually come out on Monday/Tuesday, but I see the Cats playing a late game around 7:30 or maybe even 10.
  20. Butler got the shaft on this one. Three losses and top 15 most of the year and they basically have to play an away game against S. Alabama in Birmingham. Crazy...
  21. Just got back from the game. Wild atmosphere at the Hall tonight. Harangody is an animal, kid deserves NCAA POY consideration for sure. UL is really coming together. David Padgett was once again a warrior for them, does all the little things. I think I like McGee at the point over Sosa for this UL team, he doesn't make near the mistakes Edgar does. Place erupted after the last T-Will dunk. This team has a legit shot at the Final 4, their defense is flat nasty.
  22. Anyone else find it kind of odd that with all that has happened to Mackey, he's still taking the time to mess with a fan base? Don't you think he would be using his time more wisely, like trying to repair his very damaged reputation. Oh well, I'm sure someone will be returning the favor soon enough.
  23. Just found this video on YouTube of BCG speaking to all the students at DanceBlue before he donated the money. Say what you want about the guy, but he's extremely genuine and generous, and UK is lucky to have him as a coach. Gillispie at DanceBlue
