  1. Should be a great game. Hope the 55th District Champs are ready. Howard and Fugate should lead these Tigers and I think they'll do just fine. Go Tigers!
  2. Big Game Player posted just what I was going to say. Cox plays just like a senior. The way he helped lead his team and controlled the tempo of the game in the final frame just amazed me. This kid will be something to watch in years to come.
  3. I see what you're saying but I think Jackson City may actually be a better team than JBS. IMO But they have never played this year so who's to say one is better. Jackson beat Hazard, JBS beat PCC, Jackson beat KCC so did JBS. Anyway the regular season is out the door. Throw the records away, and come tounrey time, folks better not be itching to play anyone but better be focusing on just playing, because itching can turn into a rash if not treated. Go Tigers!
  4. Wolfe will not lay down for Hazard. Gilbert's hand looked fine in the 55th Championship game with Jackson City. I think it will be a tough game for both teams, but I guess that's why they play the game.
  5. This game will be a battle, war, barn burner ect.. But I'm going to go with the mild upset in some minds and say Lee County by 3. Both of these schools have nice ball clubs.
  6. I hope the are relieved. Hope they start out knowing they have the game won!
  7. Jackson won their district over Wolfe county but the other three games would be all solid teams, including Wolfe??? Great, I hope everyone thinks this way.
  8. Is this still going to be live on WYMT, or has that been canceled due to the time? Thanks!
  9. A couple of other things I'd just like to add. I'd just like to recognize and congradulate the coaching staff at JC, Kyle Lively, Ryan Turner, and John Couch. These men have done a fine job with this team this year and I feal that the players respect and look up to these guys. Several of Breathitt's fans, players, coaches ect.. were there helping Jackson cheer on their team and I'd like to say thanks :thumb: and that was a great show of sportsmanship for all. Also, I was pleased with the leadership that our Seniors Kyle Howard, Jordan Fugate, and Chase Thompson showed out there on the floor. When things got hostile, these young men stepped up and helped the younger players control their emotions along with keeping their cool themselves. Also when the ball was in play, these boys controlled the ball well and the tempo of the game. Good job boys, way to be Team Captains. Play tough in the Region Tigers and we'll meet you in Knott County! Congradulations once again to all!
  10. I did remember mine, but my Jackson City Tigers (55 district) won their first district title since 1934 tonight and I have seemed to forgotten my last game, or is it I just don't worry about it now. It seems as if I'm living it all over again, but this time with greater results. Go Tigers!
  11. Whoo Hoo! I'm proud to be a Tiger! These kids played their tails off and overcame a lot to win this game. Wolfe has a good ball club. I thought Jackson done a great job of keeping Gilbert away from the basket and Stamper only hit a couple threes. Howard, Fugate, Thompson, Davidson, Kilburn, Watkins, Flenchum, CK Howard, Combs, all of these kids wanted this title so bad for their school, fans, coaches, ect.. and I'm glad to say that I'm proud of each and everyone of them for bringing home the hardware! This is a great group of kids and a well deserved Championship! Congradulations Tigers, you deserve it!
  12. Oh, I know you were not being negative it's just that a couple times this year it was brought up and some folks took it and ran with it in an attempt to make the team lose support. Thanks again, and I think this years Jackson team has more chemistry than those teams of the past.
  13. Should be a great Championship Game between JBS and Cordia. Congrats and good luck to both schools! This years Regional looks more like the All A.
  14. Thanks Big Game Player but I have to advise you of this situation. None of the JC players, coaches, staff, administration, fans, ect... wish to speak of those records. It was done several years ago under a coaching staff that no longer exist and does not reflect the hospitality and sportsmanship of this team and school. Yes it is a record, but it's not something anyone brags about. Thanks for the complement though, there have been some talented players come through JC but there was not much of a supporting cast to help those players. This years team plays hard and plays together and has a few talented players to go along with it.
  15. Lee is tough. Especially at home, but I'll agree thefrontrowfan. It's really hard to beat a team 3 times in one season, and it is even harder to beat them 4 times. But if any team can do it, Lee can. Lee has a solid ball club and I'm not going to make a prediction but I'll agree that it will be a classic and a barn burner!
  16. A scare for the Tigers, but looks like they pulled it out. Congrats
  17. The main reason I posted this score was to tell about #2 Kyle Howard scoring his 1000th carreer point. The game was haulted and he was applauded at half court. Congrats to Howard and all the Tigers as they make their 2nd trip to the regionals in as many years. Good job boys and play hard play smart come Thursday!
  18. No Way! WOW! What a score. Is SF out of competition now?
