I agree. I don't think anyone will start a game besides Rio this year.

Against Harrison Co. I think it would be more likely that Bryce Armstrong would start than Tayden. Not saying it would be that way in a potentially more competitive game, but if, for some reason, Rio couldn't go this week, I think you'd see Armstrong at QB. JMO.

@tdyballgame @PawPrints and @thenamerobdigity summed my thoughts up pretty well. Overall an extremely disappointing way to lose a game. Coaches are supposed to put their players in a position to be successful. Highlands currently isn’t doing that, especially on the offensive side of the ball. All you had to do was look across the sideline to see a perfect example of this. Coach Haddix managed BC’s young QB in a way where he could be successful. Haddix allowed him to manage the game, did not ask him to do things he can’t, and relied on his teams strengths, even if it got boring or seemed overly simple. He stayed the course and got the win. I hope I am wrong, but I do not anticipate things changing based on what we have seen for the last 5 years out of the OC. It is still VERY early and the Birds are 100% one of the favorites to bring home a title. Hopefully some changes happen soon to make that happen. It’s been too long. GO BIRDS!

Things I am looking for from the Bengals this week: 1. How does the Bengals' defensive front handle the Jags' rushing attack? The Jags ran for 200 yards last week. That makes me nervous. 2. How does Zac Taylor get # 1 and # 5 more touches? 3. Smoot and Hines-Allen get after the passer well. They are not Myles Garrett, but will Burrow get rid of the ball, and will the Bengals O-Line hold up so our offense can develop some type of rhythm? WHO DEY!

I love his stuff too. The way Steve uses the "adjuster" position is often copied but never duplicated. That position really makes or breaks his defense. If you ever get a chance to watch some of the film of Luke Kuechly when he played as the "adjuster", do it. Based on what you said, I think you'd love it.

No penalty that I know of, except for teams not wanting to even try to schedule you in the future. I have heard of coaches canceling Saturday JV games in the Friday handshake line after being on the losing end of a lopsided win on Friday nights before.

Great showing by the Birds! I really liked what I saw from Duncan at RB, he runs with a lot of energy. Getting him going to allow Willams to not have to truly double dip the whole game is nice. Any news on Russel Ali? I saw him hobble off and I’m not sure I ever saw him come back in. Birds’ defense is really playing well, especially up front. I really liked what I saw from Jimi Cox last night on special teams and defense. He’s young guy who hasn’t gotten a lot of publicity but is a name to watch going forward. On to the Camels! Go Birds!

Agreed. I hope I am wrong, but I also did not see an offense last week that is going to score 46 points.

Could find easier parking towards the center of town and eat at The Green Line. Great food and patio, and a very easy 5-minute walk to the stadium. There is also a local taco joint right across the street from Green Line that is pretty solid too.

@16thBBall Fan , You mentioned that the Broncos lost a lot of starters from last year, many on offense. Are any of the starters on the O-Line returning? I was able to watch some of the St. X scrimmage, and it looked like the Broncos' O-line struggled, especially the tackles. That might be an opportunity for the Birds' defense to take advantage of. Based on what I saw from the scrimmage, I was very impressed with the Broncos' LBs and DBs. The LBs BRING IT, and the DBs are going to be hard to get behind. From a Bird's standpoint, I am interested to see how Litmer has progressed over the summer. I keep waiting to see the production match the hype, as it seems the staff has been all in on him since 8th grade. Like others have said, I would be shocked and disappointed if the Birds are taking the Broncos lightly. Go Birds!

In my opinion, that is one area I am completely OK with the state being "behind the times".

The decision by the state of Kentucky to lower the driving age confuses me; if anything, I would like to see it raised. On the other hand, although I know it would be a logistical nightmare to implement, re-testing for individuals over the age of 65 would be something I am in support of as well. As CWB stated above, I see just as many ridiculous driving habits by older individuals as I do by new drivers.

In a similar lane, the ICN6 team previews that were done on local cable in the NKY area by Don Weber were great. You felt like an NFL star getting interviewed by him. His weekly highlights were great too.

I know many businesses initially wanted to move away from cash to make theft by their employees more difficult. I wonder which ultimately costs businesses more: theft or credit card fees? If at all possible, I try to use cash only. I tend to spend less that way too.

Over the last few years, we have tried to visit a national park each year. I never thought they would be my thing each, but every time I go, I am blown away by some of our country's incredible landscapes. Feels like an entirely different world. I am hooked.

Think of it as a PIP (performance improvement plan) in the private sector. If you do not meet the PIP/CAP, the next step is termination.

I read today that this included things like gameday childcare for families so WAGs could watch the games and there is not a "family lounge" for families to gather before, during, and after games. It kind of sounds like families are on their own on game day.

I don't think it is about Owensboro specifically; I think people would be surprised by the lack of overall applicants for any coaching job, much less desirable/qualified applicants. The expectation that coaches will uproot their families at an established job to jump to a new school with a reputation as a better football school is not as realistic as you see at the college and professional level. Then take into account that in almost all of the schools across the state, the compensation is virtually equal, it doesn't make sense to leave a place where you are happy. In other parts of the country where football coaches are making 100K or more to just coach, it is more common to see a lot of qualified candidates for a job opening. However, those are the same jobs where the administration will show you the door if you struggle and have a couple of bad seasons.
