Highlands travels out to Longbranch on Friday to try to end the 3 game winning streak that Cooper has had on Highlands, 2 of those wins denying Highlands a trip to Kroger Field (bitter!).  Now this year its just for winning bragging rights since Cooper now sits in 5A and Highlands has moved to 4A.

Game time:  7:30pm, Friday Aug 29th

Venue:  Cooper High School

I thought I would bust this thread out early since Frank has a busy day today and tomorrow and this might end up having some lively discussion, so why wait?

Both of these teams ended the evening last night with some question marks I believe.  Cooper is licking their wounds after crossing the 275 bridge and trying to battle an Ohio really good squad in Anderson HS.  Taking the defeat 52-10.  Highlands stayed home playing host to a solid 6A school in Freddy Douglass and pulling out the 2OT win 21-20, yes it was a win but I have to believe the coaching staff has some things to hash out this week to make them look better against a solid Cooper team coming up.

Last night was fun, but this coming Friday might be crazier especially with some Birds wanting to even the score from the last few games.

I believe Sphire has this team ready and will have a solid plan for Cooper. The Feddy D game was the first time this Highlands team has really played together because there was some key guys out for the scrimmages. They survived this first game despite some first game bumps on offense and kicking. I think they tighten it up and the offense gets humming this week. 
 

I was surprised by the Cooper score, is Anderson super good or is Cooper down from last year? All I know is Coopers QB is extremely good. 

Looks like we’re forecasted another beautiful Friday for what should be a great matchup . When’s the Indian summer coming week 3 or 4?

Could not agree with this more.  Problem is someone on the staff doesn’t see it that way.

I think Highlands gets back on the winning side against Cooper on Friday.

Anderson is ranked #3 overall in Ohio and added some pieces to last year's Division 2 runner up team. Cooper lost quite a few talented players to graduation and transfer. I think this game was 8-3 in the third quarter. Cooper made a couple of mistakes and the inability to two platoon as previously was too much to overcome against a super talented fast paced offensive system. Cooper's RB ran for about 180 on 26 carries. They will improve but this is a much different team than the last two.

Yes!  Looks like 859 Sports Radio has it on their schedule of events, that they will be there.

Highlands 21-14.

Cooper hung with Anderson for a half so they are capable of winning this one but I'll go with Highlands in a close game.
