Highlands 28 Cooper 14

Going to be a fun drive back to the fort for the Birds

Cooper will be legit this year! Cam just couldn’t get anything started with his receivers.

Maher is a dog!! Fun kid to watch run.

Glad we got the W!

Congrats to Highlands on the win! They have all the pieces this year. I think there is a good chance we see both these teams playing for state titles this year in their classes.

Agreed, I know Cam is dealing with a new core of receivers.  Once they get the timing down this is going to be a completely different Cooper team then what was shown tonight.

I really liked what I saw from the Birds tonight.  I realize there was a couple mistakes but I thought the offense really had a nice rhythm.  The defense really locked in after the 2nd series when Maher ran threw us.

Duncan showed up to be a play maker out of the back field. John Feldbruegge had a heck of a game with a couple big catches.

That display tonight is exactly what the Fort Thomas fan base is wanting to see!

I will be shocked if we hear any gripes of anything critical against the Birds….. Minus the backward pass/fumble and the 3rd down play call with 5 minutes left.

Now we have 2 weeks to get ready for the next BIG challenge at Boyle County!

Highlands plays Campbell Co next Friday! That is the only think we are focused on right now.

Highlands at Boyle County In a couple of weeks should be interesting!

Was that a normal number of players for Cooper to dress?  First time seeing them this year, last night, but was shocked on how few players the Jags dressed as a 5A team.

I don't personally see a path for this version of the Jags to play deep in the playoffs, but they'll certainly be better in 3 months than they were last night. Guessing that will be the case for nearly every team though, to be fair.

JV Score: Highlands - 41 — Cooper - 0

It was 34-0 at halftime.

I think the Jags "window" is closing.
