Well said @Purple88. I could not agree more. They both are good in there on right. AD is getting better each game and adding pieces back from injury such as Nottmeier proved to be huge against CAL. I can not help but wonder what a healthy Barber would have done in a few of these games. I think the whole state would say Barber may would have helped BG win 3 of their games in OCath, Scott County, and CAL. Not sure he would have made much of a difference in that SW game and I would say X would be a toss up on whether or not BG comes away with the win. All I know is BG is finding their pieces on both sides of the ball and if they can get a healthy Barber back to get a few games under his belt before the playoffs, 5A is wide open!

Funny you ask this. I heard a rumor that the main reason he transferred was he knew Davis was coming up behind him and he did not think he would win the job over him in the future. I do not think either Davis or Isable thought the job would have opened this season, but we all know how that went.

As far as 2A Owensboro Catholic's Oline comes to mind. They have some good size and are pretty athletic. I believe they have some Olineman with D1 offers.

I would not be surprised to see a Running Clock in this game with SW putting to them. Especially after a sluggish game against Hoptown last Friday.

I agree with this. I saw them play against BG in the playoffs last year and was highly impressed with the Hightower kid at RB. He is a legit back and I do not know what offers he has, but he is up there as one of the best in the state. Coach Price and staff have done a great job coaching this group.

I remember that team as well. Watched them beat the crap out of Allen County on the road in the Region Championship. Willis was on a different planet that night.

Your score indicates neither team has a defense that can stop a little league team. I have seen East play and their Qb, Isbell, can sling it around, but his receiving core is average at best and their Oline gives him zero time to throw. If Calloway can get after him, I like the Lakers. If the Raiders can give Isbell time, then I think they make the long trip home on 68/80 happy. I will take the Raiders by 7, not putting an official score on it as I do not know how either defense will hold up.

I am shocked more people are not talking about this game more. I think it will be a great game O'Hara can sling it around, we all know that. Manual has the advantage in the trenches. In the past the trenches against BG in the last two championships was the deciding factor in the losses Cooper faced back to back years. This leads me to believe Manual will win this game in a tight one 28-24.

I am interested in this game. Owensboro humbled the Aces who have had a great first 3 game start to the season. I think the Aces could come out angry for some vengeance at home. Ill take Ocath 24-14

You are the king of talking about scrimmages as if they matter. BG beat a good Oldham County team pretty good in their first scrimmage and beat Male in the second scrimmage. Obviously, BG has lost over 8 starters for at least one game or more, which has been brutal to see. Playing the gauntlet of a schedule they have and outside of the South game, BG has had a chance in the fourth quarter of winning those games. BG has a get right week vs a decent Barren County team, before traveling up i65 to play CAL. This BG team is beat up worse than any team I have ever seen. I do not know, at this point, if they will ever be fully healthy. If they do though, I would not be surprised to see this BG team playing in the Region Championship despite an 0-4 start.

As someone who has seen South Warren Live, they are in this convo too.

This game is a hard one to pick. Until last Friday, I would have said OC by 14. After the dismantling of DC by the Devils and the not so good performance from the Aces at home vs. Apollo, I have no idea which teams are going to come to play. I lean O due to the game at Rash. Everyone in the state knows how hard it is to go into Rash and walk out with the win. I guess I will go with the Devils to win in a very tight one.

I like Greenwood in this one. They have been a tough team that has gotten better each week. The Gators are on the road for the first time this season, but the way they handled SW upfront for 3 quarters impressed me and I think they continue their successes this Friday. Gwood over Logan 28-17

Give me a healthy BG team, with a freshman QB that has 9 games under his belt against some great teams, in November and I like their chances to run the tables and make it to the 5A Finals for the 5th time in 6 years winning their 4th in that span. 5A is up for grabs by all means, but there is just something about a healthy Purples roster with their staff come playoffs.

This will be a running clock by halftime. Spartans are going to have what ever they want against the Gators.

Give me Owensboro by 10. If Owensboro can get the ball down the field in the air, I can see O winning by a few scores.

That is fair. Even I got annoyed with the quick whistle in the SW scrimmage. We shall see how things go tomorrow night for the new qb running the show. I am excited to see how Coach Barnes utilizes all of the pieces.

Solid group here and I have been blessed to see half of them play in person. Give me Trevy Barber or Marlon Harbin III. I would say Cam O'Hara is a close option too, but he has lost his stable of 6'3 plus receivers and it will be interesting to see how his new group of wideouts do to help him achieve Mr. KY!

After watching the Owensboro Vs. SW scrimmage, I am worried that OHS has a QB issue. I know Ganaway is only a sophomore, but outside of a screen to Dillard, his throwing game did very little. Teams will likely be box heavy to stop the running attack of Hampton. Can Ganaway get the job done? Or is this another loaded Owensboro roster that fizzles out due to the inability to consistently attack teams with a good blend of a running and passing attack. Only time will tell.....
