Who do we have in the city match-up?

Daviess is coming off a loss against the Owensboro Catholic Aces. Reports are telling me DC defense really gave the Aces some problems until 2nd half. 

Owensboro is coming off a 35-0 thumping from CAL. Being at the game I'm disappointed in our DL play we literally got abused all night. This has to get fixed or we won't stop too many teams this year. I still believe in my Devils, but the fumes are wearing thin.

I would not count out DC. Their line play was good and they have some very good athletes. If Owensboro’s Oline can’t block then DC will have success. I think this game is close, but Owensboro pulls it out.

Owensboro, I think, needs to win comfortably here. 

Sure, DC might have good athletes, but they just aren't on the same level as St. X or CAL.

If DC makes this a game, this is going to be a LONG season for the Devils.

I think Owensboro gets into the win column. I'll go with Owensboro by 14.

Owensboro takes the W in this one. Will it be by much? All depends on the o-lines ability to create lanes for Hampton!

I think O wins comfortably.  At least they should.  Defense showed well in both preseason games to Mayfield and South Warren.  O played right with SW - I just hope X and CAL are that much above everyone.

He's going to be running for his life. Q Wallace was an asst. Coach last year at Owensboro and he definitely was an asset here. He will bring pressure on us and probably knows us better then anyone. I think we pull this out but it won't be easy.

Please don't mistake Daviess Co. for CAL or St. X. When Owensboro lines up against Daviess Co. on Friday night, Owensboro's players will have spent the last two weeks playing against superior competition at every single position than what they will play against in Daviess Co. The game is going to seem in slow motion for them. 

No knock against Daviess, but that is simply the truth for 90% of programs in KY when compared with this year's CAL team and St. X annually. 

Honestly, my pick here is Daviess County. I don’t think Owensboro is bad by any means but they haven’t shown life in two games against very good teams. Clearly they’re good not great at least for now. An upset drops Owensboro to 0-3 and they start picking it up after this week.

I I think this game is a lot closer than what people think. Owensboro struggles with pressure, and Q Wallace loves to load the box and get guys to the QB. I am not buying a blow out win by any means. If OHS loses this game, they may burn the pitch forks!

"facts"

Give me Owensboro by 10.  If Owensboro can get the ball down the field in the air, I can see O winning by a few scores.  

I’m still at 35-14 OHS.  I’m not buying DC stock just yet.  Love Coach Q, he’s a great guy and good coach.  But DC 1 win last year.  O beat them 59-6 last year with about 400 yards and 6 passing TD’s, Hampton had 8 for 106 rushing.  O has won 24 out of last 27 meetings, 7 in a row (down to the 2017 team that lost to a great DC team by 6, although worst O team in forever).  Total series is 60-9-1 in Owensboro favor.

CAL and X will make a lot of teams look bad, but O looked very good vs Mayfield and South Warren.  I don’t think this adds up to a close win, I think O by 21+.

 I’m not too confident in the coaching staff. First 2 games of the season O’s coach’s didn’t have the players ready to go. Zero energy, no resiliency, missed tackles on almost every play, blocking was almost non existent. Wayyy too much talent to get blown out 35-0 at home last week. Total embarrassment. At what point do you give Ashley a chance at QB? Why isn’t Evan Hampton playing defense?.. If this game is even close or we lose I’m writing this season off and hopping on the new coach train early… I really hope the Devils turn it around starting today.
