  • Thank you.  I’m not sure I’m the king…and I’m not as low as a “Baron”, who according to AI has the lowest ranking of peerage under a king and was required to give the King armed service if needed.  Af

5A feels wide open to me.  I can't wait to see how it shakes out.

Just not feeling Cooper deserves a #1.  Gut feel tells me Scott Co. is going to be there in Dec.  Notice I used feel in both sentences.

Crazy how there is not one clear favorite in this class. I feel like #1-7, when completely healthy, are all capable of winning!

I like Collins a lot! Glad to see them here.

I’m a Bowling Green guy, but an 0-4 Purples team shouldn’t even be in the rankings no matter their future projection. Feel like they need to earn it and a win over Barren County Friday wouldn’t even do it for me.

North Hopkins with one of their best wins in school history, I like their top 5 entry.

I’d have Coach Burns and those Pulaski County Maroons as my #1 seed entering week 5.

How good is Woodford county? Know they’ve played more out of state competition so far.

IDK what they returned from last season, but WOFO was crazy athletic last year.

Collins is a scary team due to their QB. Kid is very very good. Can hurt you with his arm and legs.

If Cooper is able to beat Manual this week, I'd find it hard to believe there is another 5A team with better wins than theirs.

North Hopkins definitely earned their rise as did Owensboro.  I would say Cooper is the favorite beating Ryle.  Very impressed with Ryle vs CAL.  Scott County seems pretty good, not sure on Atherton - they played well but losing to Manual gave me pause.  Pulaski is tough.  But wide open tho.

By the time the playoffs roll around, BG will be dominant as they usually are because of their early schedule. No one else aside from maybe Cooper has challenged themselves as much as BG has.

Owensboro maybe?lol (OC, CAL, St. X)… Idk that South Warren game has me feeling like even by playoffs this BG squad won’t be their dominant self. A tough out no doubt. But dominant per the usual I can’t see it yet.

Mayfield Scimmage 35-7

South WArren Scrimmage 7-7

Played Cal, St. X and OC

pretty tough schedule so far.  The scrimmages and playing OC have given me a lot of hope they can play with anyone in 5A - we’ll see shortly.

I think we will get a read on Pulaski after the next 2 weeks if they are a contender or pretender. Going to Johnson Central is never a easy task, and then South Warren at home. I think if they beat JC and keep it close with South then I'm feeling like they belong in the conversation, if they lose to JC and get blown out by South then they won't have a chance of going to Kroger field imo.

I hope they stay good so we can listen to their play by play guys.

Their youth will probably the biggest thing holding BG back from being dominant.

Having a lot of freshmen at QB will probably leave them more vulnerable than they are used to, but that's why they play the schedule they have, anyway.

BG wins championships and playing the best every year is what those teams do.
