  1. Is it just me or is that article 10% substance and 90% space-filling self-promotion that was likely authored by the subject himself?
  2. I remember back in the mid-to-late 90's when Marshall VS Graves could fill up the gym at Marshall or the Eagles' nest alone. I haven't been back that way in years, but I hear they don't even open the upper wing at Graves anymore. It's sad what's happened to the environment at HS sporting events.
  3. I'm just enjoying having my team on the winning side of things again.
  4. Coach Brannon has been with DCHS for 20 years. He may be just ready to be done. I can't speak to the reasoning. The answer to your question, though, is that kids within the physical boundaries of this county transfer among the four high schools more often than the average human being changes underwear.
  5. Per DCPS facebook page, Coach Matt Brannon has stepped down.
  6. I just commented on the open job thread. I believe this is Nathan's brother. I knew them from a past affiliation with Paducah Storm baseball. If so, they come from a good family. I hope he does well.
  7. I saw on Facebook just now that Graves hired an alum: Tyler DeBernardi. I knew Tyler and his brother Nathan from an affiliation with the Storm baseball team out of Paducah in the very early 2000's. He comes from a great family, and I'm glad he's getting a shot at a head coaching job. Best of luck to him.
  8. I feel like it's a selective call. Take a team from one "basketball region" into the next, and that team is bound to have 3-4 phantom holds. The percentage of times that they occur on 70 yard touchdown runs is curious at the least. Since it truly does happen on virtually every play, it's the number one way for an official to determine the outcome of a game.
  9. I took it as they figured out he was concussed and then told him to keep sliding to avoid getting hit again. It's all good.
  10. They left him on the field with a concussion? Liability anyone?
  11. Mayfield could have scored 136 points and I wouldn’t care one iota. I was making a tongue-in-cheek statement at our friend the Guru.
  12. I'm going to challenge this argument by saying that MOST basketball districts are geographically small enough that a team isn't taking a 3-4 hour bus ride for their butt-whipping. Yes football does play fewer games than the other sports, but is it disproportionately fewer than at the collegiate or professional level? 10 HS football games, 25-ish HS basketball games, 25-ish HS baseball games? NFL is 16 games, right? NBA 82, and MLB 162? I'm sure I don't have the all of the numbers right. I'm not that up on the Limitation of Seasons bylaw.
  13. I have no idea what’s going on. Our crowd started chanting for my kids to start doing skills. I just kept hearing the PA guy say “that’s another personal foul.” it’s now 3rd and goal DC on the Apollo 8
  14. Crosstown rivals closing out the regular season at Apollo.
  15. Madisonville vs Apollo was the same kind of clown show. My favorite is still the chain guys chatting it up and missing the snap when they should have been relocating the chains on a first down. Ball was in play and they were literally running to get the down markers set.
  16. Absolutely - I will say this for BGHS. You guys do it right. Your cheer team invited my kids to take part in the tailgate before the regular season contest. Your football players took care of business without a lot of trash on the field. So, I look forward to being on the sideline again.
  17. Eagles grab a spot in the playoffs. I’m assuming we will play Bowling Green in two weeks.
