Per DCPS facebook page, Coach Matt Brannon has stepped down.

I wonder if this has anything to do with kids transferring.

Coach Brannon has been with DCHS for 20 years. He may be just ready to be done. I can't speak to the reasoning. The answer to your question, though, is that kids within the physical boundaries of this county transfer among the four high schools more often than the average human being changes underwear. 

His best years were due to several players transferred in, so it definitely works both ways

He had some close wins of beating Owensboro in 2020 that I thought were impressive then he gets beat by Apollo in 2020 later in the year. 

The guy had a great run at a very difficult place to win.

Not that I know of. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did though.
