  1. Sounds like jealousy to me. What size shirt do you wear I'll send you an Eagles football T shirt. If you don't like my post don't read them it's very simple. But obviously you read them because you can recite all the stats. Don't worry there are a lot more to come. #closeteaglefan
  2. @gbballfan21 agree with you. Recruiting has changed so much. I think early offers set kids up for failure honestly. You never know when a kid tweets out an offer if it is actually a committable offer, they may not know either lol.
  3. @Kanaka Kahakaiagree 100%. All these 10 and 1 teams and they are shocked when they go home early. To some point I agree that as you build a program you have to have some dubs but at some point you have to play the big dogs. Unfortunately some of these teams are victims of their district opponents that they have to play. But now look at Johnson Central who can't even schedule an in-state out of district game.
  4. @gbballfan21 could have set my watch to you responding. It is obvious that your disdain for Central KY football and in particular LCA runs deep. Did Marty Moore pick on you as a kid lol? With that aside, I think in an elite program the goal is always to win state but that is not the end all be all to equate to a successful program. A good staff understands all the goals of their players and helps them achieve those goals. Life goes on after wining a state title or making an all state team. Stay with me you're going to love this stat. LCA will put 10 guys into the college football ranks from the 21 team (D1 and D3) that is unofficially the most out of any school in the entire state from any class. Sure their upset they didn't win the state title the last 2 years losing by a combined 3 points but their guys know that high school is just one of the stops in the game of life and those experiences will benefit them down the road. The irony is that two guys who played against each other in the state title games are now teammates at EKU and will be working together to win a conference championship and bowl game for the next 4 years. My original post was about Lexington schools bringing in quality coaches to help develop these kids so that they can taste victory and have the opportunity to achieve on the next level if that's their goal. I do hope one day that high school football is as important to the ENTIRE Lexington community as it is in NKY.
  5. It seems that Lexington Schools are starting take things serious and putting the right leaders in the right spots to make Lexington football relevant again. Obviously programs like LCA w/ Doug Charles and FD with McPeek have had the right guys in for a while, but Bryan Station with Hoskins, Lafayette with Atchley and LC bringing in Bathiany from the college ranks are showing that these schools are tired of losing. I don't know much about the TC hire from within and I feel that Henry Clay needs some changes but overall it seems things are trending in the right direction. A ton of talent in the area just needs the right leadership. Last but not least Sayre and Chad Pennington have put dubs on the board early and often in their short existence.
  6. Basically the 21 schedule part deuce the only change being Mercer instead of Boyle. Danville will be better this year but the district as a whole will still be down. The MC game out of the gate will be a huge challenge. Mercer will be a nice follow up to MC, followed by a CAL team who lost some weapons. It will be an early test for Belfry with life after Dixon. Then they travel 1.5 miles to play little brother in the Holy War followed by a long bus ride to the mountains to face a Pikeville team that has come away empty handed their last two trips to Eagle Valley. Ironically LCA's last two trips to Pikeville ended poorly for the Eagles. Doug Charles never backs away from a challenge and once again this is a get you ready for November type of schedule. At the end of the day I'm still not sure who competes with LCA before the state semi's in spite of losing 16 seniors (10 of which are signed or are signing to play in College). This years senior class is smaller but talented. The current roster boasts 17 juniors with several of them being D1 talent. It is also rumored that there may be some new carpet being laid in Eagle Valley. Now Matt Jones can't accuse them of cheating when they hang 50 on Middlesboro lol.
  7. Someone mentioned last night that Dennis Johnson from WC is in the mix. I checked with a few folks around WC but that's the first they had heard of it. Makes sense based on his Harrodsburg roots but that might be the only thing connecting him.
  8. Lexington football just got better with this hire. Happy for Coach Atchley and happy for the kids at Lafayette. It won't take him long to get that program on track. Largest public high school in the state with lots of talent to pull from.
  9. Exactly...and the kids know no better. I think it's especially hurtful when they do it prior to their Junior year.
  10. With the transfer portal and the covid redo year offers aren't on the table for very long. Recruiting is one the most stressful things my son and my family have been through. I do think he will see the field earlier and often at EKU. I'm not sure he would ever play at UK.
  11. It will be interesting. A goldmine of talent that can produce some big time players if under the right leadership. I expect this job to have a lot of extra "perks."
  12. Maybe I should have said 127 or just hang a roger on 34 from 27 and drive southwest for a few miles.
  13. C/O 24 O-lineman Garrison McKinney of Lexington Christian Academy picks up his first collegiate offer from EKU today. Garrison aka Gary is 6'3" 285 and stated all 15 games for the Eagles in 2021. Primarily a tackle, Gary took ample reps at center and can also play the guard position. LCA continues to develop top talent for the next level.
  14. Rumor mill is that they went whale hunting down US 27 in the central part of the state that has ties to the area. IF, they were able to land this whale it would be a huge get and might put Trinity on high alert lol.
  15. Not sure if the Lafayette job has been secured yet, but if they get someone good I see that program rising quickly based on the fact that they are the 2nd largest school in the state behind the new Christian Co Hoptown merger. Tons of talent in the pool to work with. Bryan Station has been able to stop the bleeding to FD and the change has been very noticeable in their program. LCA will keep doing what LCA does (leading the state in D1 signees this year) and so will FD. Catholic has a new skipper and needs to find it's football identity again. Fayette Co has the talent they just need the right coaching. IMO, the bling at FD will start to fade as other schools bring in the right staff, make upgrades to facilities and put some dubs on the board. Coach McPeek is up to the challenge and I like what he does to promote not only his players but other players in Fayette Co to the next level. He has some challenges ahead of him but I think he can navigate the waters.
  16. Friday night lights will be a source of motivation and comfort for a community like Mayfield. They are the epitome of Friday night lights!
  17. I remember the two guys from BE. A QB and DE. Both were great young men. We talked about Atch a lot lol. Very hard workers. I sent video to Atch of them working out. Corey Taylor has a great product for getting kids ready for HS and college.
  18. I’ll be sure to provide you guys daily updates lol 😂
  19. Lexington Christian Academy OLB, SS Tyler Morris makes it official with Navy. Tyler is slated to play Striker a hybrid linebacker position that will allow him to use his freakish athletic ability to roam the field on defense. Tyler is one of 4 LCA players signing with D1 programs today.
  20. With early signing day coming up next week, I thought it would be interesting to know which programs have the most signees. LCA: Tyler Morris - Navy Xavier Brown - Virginia Mason Moore - Miami, OH Anthony Johns - EKU Will sign eventually - Jeffrey Selby & Grant Vaught. Not bad for a 2A program. I know FD has several too but what about the rest of the state?
  21. I am hearing that they have reached out to Ethan Atchley from BE. Coach Atchley has history with them and his family is located in central KY. Seems like a good fit IMO.
