If Julian Tackett dedicated as much time to improving the RPI system as he does at the Golden Corral on New Circle this would all work like a dream.

Just checked on the scoreboard. 26 games going back to 1998 where the scoreboard starts off. Owensboro Senior has 16 wins and this year was the 10th win for Ocath. I felt like it had been more lopsided in Senior's favor but I guess not.

Saw that Jason Schum is listed as head coach at North Bullitt on the scoreboard now. I thought I read an article online in the last month where Carbello was being interviewed still as head coach at NB. Any word on what happened here?

Preseason rankings. Once the Male/Manual game rolls around the Bulldogs may well have put things together well enough to win it. But going into the beginning of the season I think Manual has more pieces remaining in place from last year in terms of seasoned talent.

Does Hart Co have any chance to make the kind of run they had last year, or was that the kind of once in a generation type thing that you tend to see in some of the non-urban-centric county school programs?

This looks pretty solid to me. For the next 5 I'd probably add in: 11. Ashland 12. Raceland 13. Paris 14. Rockcastle Co 15. Whitley Co. I kinda felt like Rockcastle Co had a pretty big case of imposter syndrome last year, Bell Co win aside. Honestly that win still has me headscratching. Rock's cupboard is bare this year, though, so they fit into the bottom top 15 teams. Whitley Co may well step ahead of Rock by the end of this season. I believe Raceland was hit kinda hard by graduation in May. I'm definitely interested to see how Paris performs this season, if they step forward or step back. Ashland will be solid by the end of the season but they have some rebuilding to do early. Tackett will have them in good shape by the playoffs, though. And Whitley sneaks in

Last year I kinda felt like Tilghman's schedule gave them the illusion of being as good as they were. Their lack of discipline always ends up being their undoing, and I don't see that changing this year. Unless there's a major shakeup in the 4A playoff bracket, I figured their season will probably derail come quarterfinals or semifinals again this year. They're probably 4th or 5th. Johnson Central had a similar playoff cakewalk last year and the the curtain was pulled away and they had their season ended when they played CovCath. They probably belong somewhere 6th thru 8th. CovCath probably takes a step back without the Rodriguez kid and after graduating their quarterback and starting running back. Probably fighting with Franklin County for 3rd or 4th place Corbin is the best team in the universe if you talk to anyone from Corbin and they're not fit to fly if you talk to anyone from Boyle. Realistically they're probably 2nd, maybe 3rd.

I totally get it that having having full roster info available on multiple platforms is really nice. But as someone who has input and updated rosters, myself, it's a time consuming pain in the keister. I can't blame anyone for only having the bandwidth to keep their roster updated in one place. And if the KHSAA is requiring teams to input their roster to their Scoreboard, I completely understand why that would be the only place it's being kept up to date.

Allison Morris is wife to former Mayfield High School head football coach Joe Morris, who surreptitiously retired on May 10, is she not?

WPSD news reports that former chamber president Allison Morris was indicted on Tuesday for theft by unlawful taking, stealing in excess of $10,000 but less than $1 MM from the chamber. She resigned from the job in February. This situation seems a little more odd than Corbin does if you ask me. Mayfield just went through the process of Morris retiring and then listing the job and hiring Morris back as a double dipper after the 2021 season. And he was both coach and AD. So all of that dog and pony show hoop jumping two years ago was done for Morris to be able to double dip for only two years and then retire again completely? I realize things come up in life that can change situations in a hurry, but this just seems fishy to me. Mayfield hasn't updated their KHSAA directory listing yet so it still shows Morris as both AD and HFC. The Mayfield school district employment page has been updated with new job listings since Morris' retirement was announced but they're yet to list the AD or HFC jobs at the high school. No idea what that means, if anything, but they were right quick about listing the HFC job two years ago when it was being done in order to set up Morris' double dipping. Heard some rumors about some questionable circumstances around all of this. They didn't come from anyone in the Mayfield community though, so they could be baloney. All the same, feels like the Mayfield crowd has been conspicuously quiet about everything since Morris retired. I'dve expected that the first head coaching change for Mayfield football in a quarter century would have the red helmet fans blowing this thread up with discussion. But instead they're very suspiciously hush hush. Odd. Seems odd.

Grizzle did pretty decently as HC at Greenup County. This seems like a somewhat similar situation to what he had in Greenup actually. A team that typically gets a small handful of wins I'm a given regular season and has to contend with kids going to two other more established athletic programs local to their district. Greenup had Ashland and Raceland. Pike Central has Pikeville and Belfry.

I've gotta think Greer had already previously tipped the administration off at Corbin to the fact that he was considering retirement. At least a little bit of a tipoff. Right? In my brain, I can't imagine that he hasn't made enough trips around the sun to be able to realize how over a barrel he's leaving the football program if he's actually pulling a "Oh by the way, I'm retiring. Peace out." almost a week into May. Especially if he's doing that without any kind of succession plan already in place. Right?

Wow. Granted the football team made it to the state finals, but this makes for both the CCH football and basketball teams getting stomped in their final games of the season. Looks like the basketball team was completely unprepared to play in the regional tournament though. To say the least.

Casey County wasn't in rebuild mode. Stoney had the program at Casey in a great spot when he left. Anyone worth their salt in coaching will tell you that most all public high school football in programs that aren't in large urban areas are as cyclical as it comes. Casey Co is definitely no exception, and Steve took the Adair job while Casey was peak downcycle. Stonebraker took over a program that hadn't had more than 5 wins a season in the previous 5 years, and he turned it around and then had them winning 10 games in each of his first two seasons there. Facts. Levi has himself a nice situation going down there at Casey Co. If he's wise, he stays there and does NOT go home. Y'all have seen firsthand what going home to Lincoln did to Jaggers. That place is poison for coaching careers. The folks there grind 'em up and spit 'em out. It's no wonder Lincoln Co calls their field Death Valley. They even have the tombstone at their field. Seems to me like the administration should start engraving the names of all the coaches they unceremoniously run off onto that sucker.

Lol, you've definitely got yourself some bad information there. He was not the only guy who interviewed. They interviewed Coach Rogers and Coach Cooper both the last time. And that's all over in the old thread if you look at up. And Cooper was still an assistant last time I checked, so color me shocked to hear that someone who was passed over for a job is outspoken and trash-talking the guy who was hired as head coach instead of him. So we know that some of the info you've obtained is incorrect. I wonder how much of the rest of it is. It definitely makes it qll the easier to see the extent that people are going to around the Lincoln County community to try to push their own agendas with (intentionally?) false information in order to run off coaches.

Does RPI have the opportunity to change things up this year to have BG face Cooper (or Highlands) prior to the finals, or are we looking at a decent chance of seeing that meeting in the 5A finals again?

This one's been open for a month and a half now. They apparently had their hire and then he walked before signing on the dotted line. Any new news? I'm getting crickets when I ask around.
