The top 3 are probably projected to win out. If so, I believe it will finish Franklin 1, Paducah 2, Boyle County 3. 

If the top 3 win out it looks like Boyle County will take the long drive to Paducah Tilghman in round 4.

RPI System/Formula is Garbage....... PERIOD.. And we, as a State, have to accept this mess which tells us who plays who and where????? If something is BROKE, you FIX IT..

Both Boyle and Franklin County have played Scott County and LCA.  Hard to fathom that big a difference of RPI points of a North Laurel win over a Bryan Station and St. Edwards win.

For the most part, it all shakes out in the end, however....the one thing I absolutely agree that does need to be fixed is the out of state competition getting a .51 RPI regardless of who it is or record.  You could play a 0-10 team or St. Ed's and it counts the same.  That definitely needs to change.  As much as I hate to say it, you can't continue to punish teams like Boyle Co., Trinity, St. X, etc. for taking a chance and scheduling difficult out of state competition.  That should be rewarded, not essentially punished.

The #14 Nationally Ranked team is ranked third in their Class in Kentucky. Makes perfect sense to me.  Really? I hear there's something called CalPreps or MaxPreps available that does something very similar to this RPI system.

RPI is hilarious.  But MaxPreps is messed up too. I doubt Boyle County would be the 14th ranked team in say...the state of Texas. Taking nothing away from Boyle County, what they have accomplished is amazing and they are definitely the best 4A team and probably the best overall team in our state. 

It is kind of crappy, but we all knew that the out of state part of the rpi formula was junk.  We knew that win would not be reflected in the rankings.  Nothing has changed from last year.  There are few surprises shown today.  It will clear up a good deal as the season goes along but we knew just like last year that this would probably happen.  So if you don't like where you are, just keep winning.  Whether it's on the road or at home.  Just take care of business and don't worry about it.
