Do you think it’s possible that Boyle leapfrogs Franklin Co?  I think it may come down to the strength of that last game for those 2.  

I feel like RPI works itself out in the end. I do however not like that teams can’t decide who’s in their district which take a hit to the RPI. Also I don’t like that some districts have 5 teams they have to play and others have 4.

Normally I would agree but last year it did not.  Corbin was the second best team in 4A to Boyle and had to play them in the 3rd. round.

Beechwood's proposal to help with that is allow teams to drop their two lowest RPI opponents. That puts RPI more in control of the team with their scheduling versus being dragged down by who is in your district and having unbalanced numbers of teams in districts. A team in a 4 team district has a built in advantage over a team in a 6 team district.

I’d agree with that’s and a plan to fix the out of state competition would make it a lot better!

Dropping out of state games vs VERY STRONG football teams only because the KHSAA RPI formula assigns lesser value to those games makes no sense. If the KHSAA is going to use RPI for Round 3 and 4 decisions, FIX THE RPI FOR OUT OF STATE GAMES.

Gotta think #9 Cov Cath's RPI is gonna slip even further after tonight's game against #36 Harrison County. Having mandatory district games against the #26, #36, and #38 teams in a classification of 42 total teams....woof.

Yep, RPI will be dropping.

With 2 weeks of the regular season left 4A is about to get very interesting as far as RPI goes.
