  1. N Hardin reached out to Douglass this week and offered to host on Friday after traveling to Douglass last year and Douglass waved them off.
  2. I'm not trying to say in the least that kids from BGHS are bad kids. Like I said, it's just a really bad look for the school and football program. And I looked up honor code offenses, FWIW. The honor code at the Naval Academy is a set of formalized codes written to require midshipmen to honor integrity by refusing to "lie, cheat, or steal." So Carothers seemingly would have had to have either lied, cheated, or stolen to get dismissed for violation of the honor code. It's not an issue of him not making his hospital corners well enough on his bed in the morning.
  3. Yikes! Big time football players out of BGHS haven't had a good look in recent years. Jamale Carothers gets booted from Navy for honor code violations, Vito Tisdale facing burglary and wanton endangerment charges here, and Nacarius Fant was found guilty on drug trafficking charges.
  4. I've got it in pretty good info that they hired either a new principal or superintendent of schools for Evangel. When the new principal/supt asked why they weren't playing KHSAA football, the answer was "we have too many players that are ineligible to play KHSAA football". When she was given that answer, her response was "Well I guess we aren't playing football then." End of story.
  5. The scoreboard shows 14 freshmen on the 65-player roster for DeSales in 2019. You're telling me they had 14 freshmen dressing varsity and still enough to field a freshman team?
  6. It looks like their roster is up to date on the scoreboard. Showing 42 players. They usually seem to have more like 60 or so players from what I can remember in years past. Losing Coach Scroggins had to be hard on the team. I think they also lost some players when there was a to-do back in May over whether or not Davis was looking into the Butler job. I know at least one or two players are at Evangel now. I've heard rumblings about some heartburn between Davis and an administrator. Not sure if that's true or not though because the AD has been there for a lot of years, and the principal and assistant principal have been around for neighborhood of 5 years. That's not to say that something couldn't have potentially come up in recent months.
  7. For as much as I like the pants on their uniforms, man those are some butt-ugly jerseys.
  8. Right? 45 kids, and they're saying they have enough kids to field two completely separate squads?
  9. Ever hear the phrase "parents are ruining sports"? The parents at Anderson County are who that phrase was written about. They're the folks who forced the AD to fire Peach who'd grown up in Lawrenceburg and was the winningest coach in program history. I wouldn't take the Anderson job for all the tea in China. They managed to dupe some poor guy from out of state into taking the job, and here it is less than 2 years later and we've got a case of a parent crying foul about the coach. All in favor of kids playing multiple sports. But if your non-school affiliated AAU basketball team has you missing football practice on the reg, should a coach not be able to assign some repercussions? What happens when the starting center and safety both ask to flake out on practice in August to go on vacation with friends and tell coach, "I mean, he's already missed 9 practices for AAU hoops. I'm just asking to miss 5 practices."?
  10. No, that isn't safe for the kids. How in the hell do you prepare kids to play 4 games against 4 different teams in the course of 9 days? That's dangerous and irresponsible. They don't pull crap like that in college football, or even in the NFL. They're going to get kids hurt. This schedule shows how much DaMarcus Smith and Brandon Bender don't really care about kids and just want to try to make names for themselves. They're completely irresponsible and have no concern for the safety of their players. The fact that this is all going on at a Christian School tells me that the administrators of the school and church have no clue what they're into here. Apparently they want to spread the word of Christ by endangering children's physical well-being.
  11. What does the KHSAA say about playing teams that aren't a member of the state's governing high school athletic association? I looked on the OHSAA site and Bishop Sycamore is not a member (which makes sense if they're taking post-graduate students on as a prep school). Assuming the KHSAA will have something to say if there are potentially 20 year olds on the field, especially after all the hub-bub surrounding the do-over year in Kentucky.

  13. Absolutely awesome. GREAT player. I expect to see him playing on Sundays eventually.
  14. I'm assuming I'm not the only one who reads this and thinks Danville's roster numbers are low?
  15. I'd say they have potential for at least 4 wins during the regular season. And you've gotta assume they play either Scott Co or Douglass in the first round of the playoffs so that will be a loss. Realistically I think all of their non-district schedule is pretty evenly matched and several games could really go either way. From the couple of times I've seen Grant play in years past, I always felt like their kids were surprisingly small, across the board. Not sure if that's a regular thing they struggle with or not, but I definitely was surprised at how small they were up front especially. I don't follow the program in particular but whenever I check scores I'm kinda always low-key root for them because they're one of those schools that is just set up to get their keisters handed to them in district play. Aug 20 vs. Holmes Loss Aug 27 at Lloyd Memorial Tossup. Sep. 3 at Walton-Verona Tossup, probably WV. Sep 10 vs. Carroll County Win Sep 17 vs. Scott Win Sep 24 at Montgomery County (District) Win Oct 1 vs. Frederick Douglass (District) Loss Oct 7 at Scott County (District) Loss Oct 15 - BYE Oct 22 vs. Great Crossing (District) Loss Oct 29 vs. South Laurel Win
  16. I'm still just...... 😦 Do you think Manual and Shawnee high school are pretty similar too? Both are JCPS schools. Only separated by about 6 miles.
  17. Are you forreal? Do you have any clue what kind of families are even attending those two schools? And you realize that like half or more of a local public school district's budget comes from property tax, right? Now which city do you think collects more in property taxes, Newport, or Fort Thomas? Newport: Median household income (in 2019 dollars), 2015-2019 - $37,435 Persons in poverty, percent - 32.4% Fort Thomas: Median household income (in 2019 dollars), 2015-2019 - $78,972 Persons in poverty, percent - 5.2%
  18. As an outsider looking in, the change in demographic from Highlands to Newport is a particularly interesting one for Coach Weinrich. Has he ever coached in an inner city public school before?
  19. Grego Scott is a current freshman lineman that transferred in from Western. Announced his transfer back in February which seemed to coincide with a lot of the "weird" going on at Evangel. Debo Jackson is another current freshman lineman who transferred to Evangel from Western. Saw back in February at some point where he retweeted a countdown to opening kickoff with some Eagle emojis added as personal flair, which I took as his transfer disclosure as well. Both were on the varsity roster for Western last year, but Western failed to report stats to the KHSAA all season. Both players tweeted about their varsity playing time at Western though so I would assume that means they sit for the 2022 football season at Evangel due to transfer eligibility. Manual lost Zahron Washburn is a quick little back, pretty shifty on his feet. Another freshman transfer. He played in all of Manual's varsity games this past season. Freshman lineman Christoper Jones was talking about transferring to Evangel as well but I think he has reconsidered. He played in one of Manual's varsity games so he may not have been too keen on the idea of sitting out for some or all of 2022. Was told that Eli Price is a current junior at Waggener that may be re-classifying to 2023 so he can transfer to Evangel and play one more year of football.
