Dang it. I was thinking the same thing and hoping no one would speak it into existence. I feel like Eddie is way better than what he showed last night. I hope I am wrong.

If HHS protects the ball, this game is not close. 5 turnovers is unacceptable and will cost the game 99% of the time. Really happy for Dawson Hosea. He has stayed the course and it paid off for him tonight. Young man runs hard and just goes about his business. He stepped up big time and really carried the Birds offense for awhile tonight. Defensive front 7 was really impressive tonight. Lots and lots of pressure on CCH all night and really stuffed the running game which was a major concern going into the game. The back end still needs some work. It was good to see Class get some reps at CB. I think he can help there. If I am game planning against HHS I am picking on the CBs until they prove to me that I can't. Enjoy the win tonight, you deserve it and worked hard to get back to where you are! But tomorrow morning it needs to be back to grind. Keep your nose on the grindstone!

I watch it on Hulu but I believe that is was made by Amazon so I think if you have Prime you should be good to go.

Does anyone/has anyone watched this yet? I am 3 episodes in and it is really good so far. Very talented cast led by Forest Whitaker who plays drug kingpin of Harlem Bumpy Johnson. There are many different elements of the show that make it interesting - the African-American music industry, impact of drug abuse, organized crime, racial tensions of the 1960s, Malcom X, etc. If you are looking for something new that is very much based on real historical events, I would highly recommend it.

I think that would have to be the case and it makes sense. Not sure if the money is there for that but I think if it is possible it would benefit the students on many levels, not just athletics.

I think a hurdle that prevents combining some of these schools is how you decide who stays and who goes in relatively high paying education jobs. Suddenly you have two superintendents, principals, assistant principals, school boards, etc. Teacher wise you would probably be ok because you would need more teachers for the larger student body. Tax bases could also play into the issue. I believe that Dayton actually has some of the highest taxes in Northern Kentucky. Would that mean Bellevue needs to up their taxes so each side is paying their equal share? I don't know how that would work. Buildings would be another issue. Could both Dayton and Bellevue fit in one or the other? I definitely don't have the answers, just spit balling on reasons why it doesn't happen.

This has become very popular in Newport; especially on the East Row where there are a lot renovated beautiful homes. The problem is, very few, if any, of the young families in that area are sending their kids to Newport. If they do have kids they are sending them to private schools in the NKY area and across the river or paying tuition to go to one of the better performing public schools.

Very true. Wish things would have linked up better for Hamblen; as good as he was I don't think he ever reached his true potential in high school and definitely not in college.

The 04 defense has to be one of the best defenses in HHS, maybe state, history. Pryse, Harned, Kidwell, Bardo, and Brossart rotating on the defensive line then the rotation of Scheerer (SP?), Bonomini, Drew Cecil, Nevels, Stowers, Ben Guidugli, and Connelly at OLB/ILB, then on the back end Peterman, Bathiany, Mitchell, and Gosney. Good lord. The defenses that Weinrich led in 04, 07, 08, 09 were absolutely crazy talented. The 09 offense was far superior to the 04 offense, however. Because of that I would have to give them the nod.

I loved how Dale used to find a way to do this early in the playoffs when the freshman team was pulled up each year!

When playing for HHS I witnessed coaches walk to shake hands with Coach Mueller at the conclusion of the game and cancel the JV game that was scheduled for the next morning on more than one occasion. I think many would be surprised how many times team cancel JV and freshman games because they know they are going to get a butt whuppin'.

I was not inferring they were not aware; I asked a very simply and fair question as I am rooting for CC to beat Ryle. I did not know he played both ways against GRC. I was simply asking if he was healthy. Sheesh, defensive much?

Is the QB for CC that broke his arm/hand back? I know he has been playing some defense while he's been hurt but he could really help getting some reps on offense, even if it isn't at QB.

Coach Hauck is one of the many legendary HHS coaches; I don't think anyone who follows NKY football doesn't know that. I used to have lunch with Coach Hauck at Cobblestone Cafe across from where he lived in Ft. Thomas every now and then. GREAT man who truly always wanted what was best for everyone around him. In terms of the game, I hope to see HHS run the concepts that they are going to use against CCH to mastery. I would like to see HHS use this game as a scrimmage towards CCH. Run everything, in all three phases, that you want to use against CCH so that it is second nature by the time 10/14 rolls around. This whole week should be about preparing for CCH and using that preparation as a test run for CCH. See what works and you're comfortable with and then adjust your game plan.

My wife and I use ours a minimum of 4-5 times a week; everything from homemade pizza, wings, veggies, meatballs, chicken, burgers; you can pretty much cook anything in it. We had a smaller one by Oyster that we loved but wanted a bigger one to cook multiple items at once. We went with the one in the picture attached and love it. Fortunately, we have a lot of counter space because it is pretty big. If you plan to put it away each time after you use it, you may want to go with a smaller one.

IMO there is nothing more overrated as to the development of players, especially at the high school level, than "facilities". Using that as a reason teams are not good is the easiest excuse available. I witnessed Highlands develop players in a converted mold ridded storage closet for 20+ years. From personal experience of being in their facilities, I will also say that NCC, CCH, Beechwood, Lex Cath, and others have not had some crazy high end "facilities" that put them at an advantage to other programs. Facilitates are just an easy excuse and passing the puck

This is a game Highlands should dominate in all phases. I would challenge HHS take this opportunity to play a complete game in all three phases, limit/eliminate turnovers, and tackle well. Also, make it clean game; stop the boneheaded penalties that could potential cost you a game that you shouldn't lose. These are the things the Birds are going to have to do when they play CCH and in the playoffs to be successful. I hope to see HHS use this week as an opportunity to take it to the next level and truly show what they are capable of. The Birds cannot regress this or play down to their opponent.

GRC has a ton of young talent. This is a big win for the Camels. Their season could have really derailed in the last few weeks and they stayed the course. Great job representing NKY!

Great post! The first snap he took at QB in months was when he had to go in the SW game. Agree with TED that Bottom throws a great ball. Must be a mental thing that when the lights go on it doesn't translate. Totally agree with your view of him running the ball too. Once the aggressive nature kicks in and he knows he can put a shoulder down or stiff arm out and run people over he will take it to the next level.

Not sure what the issue is. They must have a lot of injuries or illness. Disappointing for those players who would be playing to work all week and not get an opportunity to play and develop.

And I will repeat again that it is the little things that matter that make bad teams good and good teams great. It isn't just the warmups at halftime; it is an attitude that everything you do matters. And to be very honest, Coach Sphire has done an awesome job of paying attention to the little things - which is why it was surprising to see. However, to answer your question they were very organized and efficient under Coach Mueller - because he believed in the little things. It seems that it would be good to understand that every little thing matters if you want to be great. I never dreamed it would be such a big deal to want your team to care about every little detail.

You are not being over critical. You are speaking to the little things and they add up big time. What has made the great HHS teams great is the attention to those little things. It either matters or it doesn't!
