Doss was a flat out embarrassment. South Oldham was a debacle.

Home playoff game for the first time since 2015. Birds should roll in this one. Just have to take care of business with eyes on the bigger prize. One week at a time.

Beechwood gets this win. NCC has some players, but the overall talent of Beechwood will wear down NCC.

Cooper is going to be a force to deal with in the coming years. All teams better take notice in NKY. Having a lot of young talent with Borchers as the coach along with a good freshman group.

Great game for the Birds as the getting better marathon continues. These players are buying in and are working hard every day to improve their play and make the program better as a whole. On a side note, the Conner band was amazing at halftime. It's amazing what a great band can do for a school. If the fans, players, coaches and people on this website are talking about them then they put on a great performance. Then to stay after the game for an encore performance to a good crowd shows how good they are. The Birds still have some work to do but building a future is in progress. Two of the offensive starters are seniors so you will see this offense back next year with more weapons to be added. Defense is going to get stronger, faster and deeper. Highlands is getting back to what Highlands football is known for. Still some work to do on all fronts but its getting better by the day. Congrats to all and keep it going.

Prediction / Update thread and it's already into the 6th page. When there is talk about Highlands this website gets going. Thank you to all the people who engage in the Highlands talk to keep this website going.

Can't believe I just wasted over an hour of my life reading about daddy ball by some true haters of Highlands football. I wish I had as much time as these haters of the program do who never wore the uniform to sit and complain while hiding behind their computer. What's failed to be mentioned is these "daddy ball" guys are Highlands football alumni who care deeply about the program that they want to be part of the solution not the problem. Who cares if they have a son on the team because in the current make up its not affecting anything. So the haters need to stop sitting in the stands sucking on their lollipops and be part of the solution instead of the problem because its making you look bad. These daddy ball coaches are working their tails off everyday and even during the off season at 6am for morning weights and conditioning making sure that each and every player who puts on the uniform is having a great experience. Let's not forget that only one game has been played and the haters are already allowing it to define the season.

With SK scoring alot one would think Crone would have had more passing yards and TDs. Like to see more of what he can do his senior year. Good luck to SK as the season goes on.

Sad to hear this. He was one of the known football coaches in this state for making teams better. High school football in the state of ky lost a good one.

Birds will be fine. They do need a RB that can stay healthy and be productive. Who that is at this point is the big question. These boys have a lot fight in them and they want to win. They are all in and it shows.

I guess Newport fans are starting to realize what Highlands fans have felt like that last few years.

Not about money. It's all about what you put into it. Can't blame not being able to compete on who gets the most money. Are you for real?

Highlands fans back in 2014 thought he was a big enough name from his years of coaching there to be the head coach. Hope you followed along on what happened there and know why he isn't the coach there now. If he couldn't keep the winning tradition going at HHS he won't be able to get Newport to any winning ways. He had the everything handed to him at Highlands and dismantled it in a short fee years... Enjoy it.

What do you mean by "inner city"? How is Newport any different of a school than Highlands. Both are independent school systems and operate pretty similar. Only seperated by about 4 miles
