  1. Their pizza is actually solid, and you can never go wrong with a fully dressed Speedway-Dog. Both would have been far superior options to their "burger". A fully dressed dog (or two) and a bag of combo's would have been a perfect snack until your home-cooked meal. :bunny:
  2. So two examples: 1. You buy a $30,000 car, new, at 0% APR, and finance it for 60 months (easy math). $500 / month. In this example that is something that comfortably fits within your budget. 2. You buy a $30,000 car, new, and pay cash for it. If invested in a way that would have earned you 7% a year, that could have been: $30,000 in year one, $32,100 in year two, $34,347 in year 3, $36,751 in year 4, and $39,323 in year 5. So by staying "debt-free", you cost yourself $9,323 over the same term you would have been making payments on the car. Now, since the average car is worth half of its value in 5 years: 1. The first example, you now have $39,323 in the bank (instead of the $30,000 you had 5 years ago), and you have $15,000 in equity in the car you have paid off. Deducting the $30,000 in payments you made (60 x $500), you have $9,323 in savings that you wouldn't have had otherwise plus the car's equity. 2. You don't have that $30,000 in the bank, nor the compounded interest, and now have only the $15,000 in equity in the car you're driving. So which one makes more sense? Now, the rub becomes if you aren't saving your money properly, and instead of investing that $30,000 chunk and saving the interest you blew it on things / habits / nonsense, and now of course you resemble about 75% of the population.
  3. And I shop a lot. I didn't give it a TON of thought, but I always thought if the money was better and the hours were better, I'd have been open to that path.
  4. Really interesting question. For me: selling Real Estate, Teacher / High School Coach, and managing a big box retail / grocery store.
  5. Did you yell at her the whole time then steal her lunch money? #Ironic
  6. Red can only -- miss me with their flavors. If I want flavors I'll go elsewhere, but you can't beat the originals in the red cans.
  7. Frank Jacobs is the TE on this team, no matter how much I like Derek Smith. Jared would be my QB if I was making the team out, and I realize there are many talented options. Shaun Alexander is THE running back, no list needed. Marty Moore and Todd Schulte are the line-backers that can be written in with a sharpie.
  8. I think 8-4 should be the absolute lowest expectation for regular season wins and losses, I think 9-3 is the most likely, and I think Husker faithful can talk themselves into 10 wins. The west is winnable this year if guys stay healthy. The only real question mark is in the backfield, but the way Frost wants to run his offense, that isn't as crucial as it would be for a run-first / traditional pro-style offense. I think the defense will be much improved. I think the next 5 years should be a straight climb up from where they were the first half of last year, to getting in the mix at the 2nd tier of national powers again. There won't be a return to the mid-90's and complete dominance, but they can reach and maintain a higher level than Michigan State, in my opinion.
  9. CovCath? Campbell County? Calvary Christian? Carroll County? (they are sort of NKY, right? )
  10. Duke and Michigan State Gonzaga and Michigan Virginia and Villanova UNC and UK Duke vs Michigan in Final 4 Villanova vs North Carolina in Final 4 Duke vs North Carolina on Monday night. Duke cuts down the nets.
  11. Big fan of England as well, seems primed for a great year.
  12. I thought this was really good, like the back-story. One caveat to my loving the movie: the "tribute" to "Top Gun", while an AMAZING character, was a little corny.
  13. Why wouldn't Joe Finnegan be a lock for this job...if he wants it? Seems like a no-brainer hire to me.
  14. His last 5 years at Xavier his offense was never lower than 46th in the country in points per possession, 3x in the top 20 (2015, 2016, and 2018) -- sign me up for that kind of "trademark" in Louisville.
  15. Happy for Cozart, to be sure, but I thought for sure this award would have gone to Tandy. Interesting.
  16. Now you're making an assumption, because I'm 100% for seeding the Sweet 16. I just don't know how you make it fair unless you create a committee from around the state, lock them in the room with laptops and BGP subscriptions, and we all promise to accept their 1-16 findings. I can't imagine there is any chance that ever happens for a multitude of reasons (give the little guys a chance, being the largest reasons), but I'm 100% in support of finding an equitable way to seed the 16 region winners.
