  1. They did talk to 1,326 people in a country with just over 272 million. :bunny:
  2. Sitting at Frisch's, order their "Italian Spaghetti" (I've long been a fan), and when the bowl comes out I ask the server, "...ma'am, am I crazy or is this portion smaller than it used to be?" She tells me yes, "about half the size", and that change and the new cole slaw are "what all of the regulars gripe about." Market research project completed.
  3. Usually always the issue. I have found that Frisch's on Dream Street, Frisch's in Erlanger next to the old Furniture Fair, and Frisch's in Fort Wright at Kyles and Dixie are always really solid. Conversely, the Frisch's in Florence at the intersection of Turfway and Hwy 18 (by Boone Co. HS) is usually a hard pass for me.
  4. I mean, I feel like every American Citizen should do their part. Count me in.
  5. In one year you've already had a chance to meet and actually talk to Chris Mack for a while -- that is very cool.
  6. I was at UC vs Xavier on December 10, 2011 -- still the craziest thing I've ever seen at a sporting event, and hopefully it will never be topped at a game I'm attending.
  7. I could go on and on in this thread, but don't want to get locked into deep opinion based debates on music. I will simply say Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Metallica, and Lady Antebellum all make me dive for cover.
  8. The Hooters opened for Loverboy at the Cincinnati Gardens. Mid 1980's.
  9. Thomas More University -- and yes, very cool for Holy Cross.
  10. After conference play has already started, sorry, I should have been more specific. It very well may be, but in late January, UK will have already played a road SEC game at that point.
  11. So....not a single road game in the non-conference? Interesting.
  12. No Northern KY team in the field...oh well, guess I get to avoid a bunch of mid-week down-and-backs to south Louisville.
  13. That or Adam Dunn's walk-off grand slam to beat the Indians -- both were deafening and stranger-hugging moments.
  14. I think there are several talented 8th graders in that number as well, but regardless, they have a lot of talented kids and the future for Jags' Soccer appears to be very bright. Excited for their resurgence.
  15. Cooper's coaches are very excited about their crop of freshmen this year, so while it won't mean immediate results at the Varsity level, the future seems bright for the Jags.
  16. I'm sure that will be the case -- no surprise. I think Ryle and Highlands were shoo-ins, I assume CovCath will be solid, and I'd love to know about Cooper and St. Henry. I am also hearing there is some optimism at Holy Cross, but not sure if that is real or just optimistic.
  17. I think it is a sign from God that you should have been ordering a Buddy Boy all along. They were, are, and forever shall be yummy!! The Frisch's near my home, and the one near my office, are both packed all of the time. Their ice remains top shelf, no dust. I know they are trying to bring in more young families, like every other restaurant chain on Earth, but beyond that, I haven't noticed any major changes -- but in fairness, the Big Boy isn't my go-to.
  18. Without question, the WEBN Fireworks are the most people I've ever seen in one place. Last year, per the TV news, the Police estimated there were nearly 700,000 people in the area to watch, but as was said above, that incorporates both sides of the river. Have been to the Indy 500 (never again), and that is a hot mess of people. Have been to the Derby. Have been to the Final Four (last time, New Orleans, when UK with Anthony Davis were there), and while inside the stadium is one thing, the fan zones and crowds around the building were bonkers.
  19. Certainly with you on the first part of your post. Good info, thanks, I figured they'd be right in there. I know they tweaked up their coaching staff a little this year, so I'm sure that will give them a shot in the arm too.
  20. That is a great question -- I'm assuming it is the lack of posters on the board, because based on numbers I'm hearing at tryouts / practices around NKY, it doesn't sound like the issue is a lack of interest overall. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how the region unfolds this fall at all 3 levels (Varsity, JV, and Freshmen).
