Yes, Wheeler has Painter, but Schwartz has a better supporting cast to take away some of the defense focus. Having Sheer & Crittenden takes a lot of the focus and pressure away from Schwartz. Boyd has played the #1, #2 and #3 team in West Virginia and they play #1 again. Highlands, Russell, Mercer, Dixie - these are not bad teams. Wheeler put up 40+ against Ryle Ryle may have had a tougher schedule, but Boyd has played a tough enough schedule that shouldn't take away from Wheeler's stats. In their one game head-to-head, Schwartz shot 21 shots and had 25 points. Wheeler had 23 shots and had 40 points. They both had 8 rebounds and Boyd won. I don't know that I could pick between the two. They have both had great years and are putting up amazing numbers! In my opinion, either one would be a good choice for the award. Owens from Scott County is a good choice as well.

I can see how someone could argue for Conner, but I do not see how Highlands at number two would make any sense.

It wasn't 20+, the score is posted incorrectly. It was a 14 point win and there were some free throws at the end that boosted it by about 4 to 6. It was a 2 point game at the half, and about a 8 to 12 lead for most of the 2nd half, with occasional spurts either way. Conner was in control the whole time and was never really threatened, but Dixie hung around until the end. The better team won and it played out as one would have (should have) expected.

It would be curious to know the details. How long was full court pressure applied? How much time was split between starters and the bench? With a running clock, it's hard to get to 97 points unless you are really pushing the action, unless they had 60 or 70 in the 1st half. What was halftime score?

Scott is much better than I thought they would be. Losing Clephane, some incoming freshmen that would have played, and their starting point guard were all big losses. They have played well so far considering what they lost.

The group of seniors that graduated last year were very good and had exceptional careers, this drop-off should be expected.

It was Pickerington Central. I saw the game. PC is really good - state champs last year, I believe. They would probably beat any Ky team, but not sure they would win by the same margin.

They also beat St. Henry earlier this year. 2-0, nice start for the Lady Braves

Who gets to decide what teams are in and what teams are out? It "sounds" like a good idea until you have to actually make it work. This the college football system, where a committee decides who gets in. Or college basketball for that matter. You see the controversy ever year with those models. plenty of hurt feelings because their team got left out. All you would do is move the disgruntleness to a different group of people - not actually solve the problem. For what it's worth, that is why Districts get both the winner and runner-up to advance. Too early to knock out a good team paired with another good team in the same district, but at some point (regionals) you have to beat the teams you play.

Sacred Heart avenges an regular season loss to the Pioneers to advance. Tough 1st round match-up for both teams.

Highlands has a great shot to get to the final. I'd even say a "favorite" to get there on their side of the bracket. Highlands vs. 7th region champ is what I see playing out. NDA has some really strong younger classes and will continue to be tough in coming years. These two were clearly the top of the class in the 9th. Keep in mind, both these teams have girls that are not playing high school because they are on the DA, or they would even have a better chance of winning state.

These two Kenton County schools end their regular seasons with a Dixie win. Two big wins this week for Dixie.

Pandas with a loss to end out their regular season. Tough last half of the season for them 2-4-2 but against some good competition. Dixie continues to be up and down. They've had some really good wins mixed with a couple bad looses & ties. Hopefully both teams came out healthy and ready to start districts next week.

It was some type of leg injury, not sure of the specifics. It was during warm-ups in 1st game of season.

Dixie continues to struggle to get shots and put the ball in the net. This was their 1st goal in the last 3 games not from a corner kick. Freshman Madeline Lawson got her 1st goal today after being out with an injury the 1st half of the season. The 1 second half goal was enough to hold on for the win over a good Russell team.

Big win for the Colonels in the pouring rain. They scored on a corner kick midway through the first half and held on for the win.

After a late goal by Dixie to tie the game, both teams failed to score in OT. The District match went to PK and Dixie won 4 - 3. Good match-up between these two
