  1. I think this will be a competitive game. Corbin has a great front 7 but will struggle to defend the pass if they do not get pressure on the QB. Lex Cath has great skill kids that will cause Corbin some problems. I still believe Corbin will pull it out.
  2. Haters are going to hate! Kids wanted better opportunities so they took it. Maybe their home programs should do better to retain their talent and they won’t want to come to BC. Same with other programs throughout the state. Danville fans will use everything as an excuse to hide the fact that their historic program has faded into the shadows
  3. He only had 68 yards in the semifinal game against Boyle County. Some might say that’s the biggest game of the year.
  4. When Cortez Stone played good competition he did not look as good
  5. They like the Calipari Model at Danville Schools
  6. A great topic of discussion. It is so hard to find great help for a lot of coaches. I believe young coaches are trying to climb the ladder too fast. Younger coaches do not see the value in learning from great coaches and want to have that title beside their name.
  7. Damien Harris was a once in a generation talent. He is playing for the Patriots and went to Alabama! Yes if they are once in a generation they will find you but besides that no. If that is the case about all of those players why did they come to Boyle? Rings are nice but it was for the opportunities. It is what it is. Boyle has better opportunities for athletes than anyone else in the area. It is what it is.
  8. Tell me all the scouts that were at Garrard games when he was there? If you are college coach why would you go watch 1 player or go watch 8 players that are competing at a high level. Then those college programs keep going back to the same schools because they know they will have talent. Well before Spencer, they only allowed 1 coach in the building. Did not have in school weightlifting. Had terrible facilities. Do you want me to keep going on? They finally started to invest in the program.
  9. People like Calico Jack say things like that to make themselves feel good about their mediocre program and to disparage kids from making decisions that are best for them. Garrard would have been significantly better than they were with Quisenberry but I am sorry to tell Calico that he would not have the same opportunities if he was still there. He would have never been able to play on the biggest stage if he was still there because the school district does not care if they are successful. The UKs and ULs are not going to come watch Garrard County play a Rockcastle or a Bell. But they will go watch a FD play LCA or Boyle play LCA. The field is loaded with top level talent when teams like the above mentioned play each other. In regards to jimmies and joes, when you get to the top level of play, everyone in the semifinals and championship games has them. If your belief was true then the team with the most talent would win every year and I know Boyle has been outgunned a few times and still won. Coaching, culture, etc is what separates in the end.
  10. I think that is clear. Every coach in the state should be promoting their players and program on social media in the modern era. If you want to connect with your players and community then they will do that.
  11. Owensboro is also scrimmaging Boyle County at Lindsey Wilson.
  12. I am sure that is exactly what happened. That Boyle County specifically timed it up that they would make their ring announcements when a player is looking to enroll somewhere else. Shouldn't coaches be active on social media and promote their program? or is it only bad when a coach does it and the team has been ultra successful? Just trying to understand. Maybe the kids and their families want better opportunities. I do not see anything wrong with that. Plus a coach cannot make a player and their family move to the school district so they can be eligible.
  13. Are you saying that the RB at Danville has not enrolled at Boyle County?
  14. I think you can find out who it is if you use context clues lol.
  15. I think the 3 peat State Champions would have something to say about that.
  16. I am hearing that an early candidate for this job is Nick Mills who is currently at Boyle County. He is from the area.
  17. Why would Montice move his son from a program that is playing for a state championship? A program that has put his son in the spotlight by being able to play at Kroger Field. No other program in the area could do that. I am just curious.
  18. FD will handle Cov Cath. Not saying by running clock but if they decide to run the ball then it will be a long night for Cov Cath. A lot of people talk about the skill players for FD but, in my opinion, the line of scrimmage is where they dominate. D line and O line are both great. They also have 3 really good backs that will be hard to take down. You talk about the Lex Cath game as if something in regards to the run game should be highlighted. Lex Cath had 42 yards of rushing against Boyle. They beat Boyle by the big play in the passing game in the last minutes of the game. Cov Cath should not underestimate Freddie D. Very good team that is well coached. Cov Caths offense was held to 7 points by Lex Cath and the Freddie D defense is much better.
  19. Corbin has played quality opponents in Pikeville and Franklin but we all know that they will bow down to Johnson Central in the 3rd round like always. Boyle would beat Franklin, Corbin and Ballard.
  20. So you proved my point. It is not a fair comparison which is what I was saying. Unsure as to what point you are trying to prove. Danville can quip all they want but Boyle County did not cause the issues that led some students to transfer. They did.
  21. Well lets look at Boyle County and compare them to Douglass. 1. Boyle County does not have an academy attached to that is a separate school and kids that go to that school are allowed to play sports for them. 2. Boyle County does not have a magnet program that allows them to pull kids from anywhere in their district regardless of district lines and allows them to be eligible. Boyle County cannot pull students like Douglass can. Douglass was pulling players from the Bryan Station area through the BioMed program. So you are comparing apples to oranges on that front. Douglass has way more avenues than 99% of programs in the state to get the best players. Hats off to them for having those options but its not a fair comparison.
  22. Frederick Douglass has an advantage with CGWA that other districts around the state do not have but most of the kids transfer to Frederick Douglass using the BioMed magnet that is at Douglass. Each Fayette school has this. This also gives schools in Lexington an advantage and how Douglass has gotten the best players.
  23. So what is your solution to this problem? Considering KHSAA is self funded, which is against the norm in the United States, and they have limited resources with an issue that is increasingly spreading resources thin and with open enrollment now in Kentucky.
  24. Well regardless of how you feel about this issue. It is what it is. You can either complain about the current state of affairs and changing of rules or you can adapt to the current environment and be successful. Students can currently transfer before high school anytime they want to and coaches actively seek kids out at the grade level right now. Just go to Louisville or Lexington on Saturday at any youth league game. Transfers have went up significantly the past year or so. People move all the time solely to go to a school that they feel will better their student and gives them a better chance to be successful. I am all for it. It’s currently happening as we type all these things. Why make it harder for families.
