Brannen played shooting guard and some point. He is doing well at Beechwood. The bench guards for CCH are: Nowak - who is primarily used for defense. Lenihan - who is under utilized, and Luke Thelen - who is never utilized All seniors. No juniors at point.

Nick Thelen played a great game and continues to deliver! The press continues to haunt the CCH guards. With all the depth at CCH, they dont seem to have a backup point guard they trust. I hope the minutes Aiden and CJ are logging dont wear them out over this stretch of 4 games in 4 days.

Hoosiers! Was this the smallest school in NKY beating the largest?

NKY vs Louisville tomorrow in both semis. Who will prevail?

CCH players will make the 3 hour commute with their parents all week. Even if they win their 9 PM game tomorrow night to advance to the finals, they still go home. I guess the Catholics cant afford an overnight. Lol. In all seriousness, I think their travel budget all goes towards the Florida trip next week.

BluegrassPreps.com Boys Basketball Top 20 Week 2 - Discussion
IMO, the top 3 are interchangeable until next week and KOB. However, i think if Scott County gets a double digit win tonight against Lex Cath, then they will move up in the ranks.

Mo' players have some really cool macho names that sound like big time ballers!

I saw big Jake Walter's interview on The Blitz - very well spoken young man!!! And CJ's performance against some good defenders - WOW!
-
Scott County 68 Lexington Christian 59
Scott County has a couple nice early wins against top 20 teams! And LCA has been on the opposite side of the coin losing early this season to two top 20 teams. This should build character for both programs going forward!

Nice summary and sounds like a great game. Solid win for the Breds!

Scott 83 Beechwood 58
I picked Beechwood in this one and I must say, Scott looked great and completely outplayed my Tigers.

"Same one" what? That makes no sense. I did see Fleek brick one off the backboard - he was prob a little nervous being his first varsity minutes and all. I think Fleek and Thelen have both played well, in addition to the rest of the boys. It should be a great season for CCH!!!

Walton-Verona 51 Gallatin County 31
Again, this still doesnt sound impressive but actually sounds worse. They only scored 3 points while allowing 12 in the final 4:30. To me, any HS that only scores 31 points in a game and loses by 20 should not be considered impressive but maybe i have different standards. I also dont feel that everyone should get a participation trophy. Maybe a better comment would be that Gallatin played hard but was out matched.

C'mon Muskie - you are usually better than that and are always here to entertain us! I will assume your question is rhetorical since I know you saw the game. I was trying to give Jake some props and stated I look forward to seeing him develop, yet you get defensive. The truth is, Walter played 25 minutes against Lex Cath which was third most on the team behind Frederick and Ruthsatz. He only had 3 fouls and only took 3 shots from the field. I would not call this foul trouble. I would call this CCH's inability to get him the ball! For example, your boy Frederick had no fouls in the first half and fouled out in the second half yet finished with 12 points. He actually missed a perfect 2 on 1 opp to lob it to Walter for a dunk late in the game but instead bricked a 6 footer off the front of the rim.

What were you impressed with by Gallatin? They were held to 31 points and lost by 20. This doesnt sound very impressive.

I thought I read elsewhere that Burries is going to Christian Brothers in Memphis.

Walter was def a beast against a mediocre St Henry. He had a couple nice reverses, dunks, ans strong rebounds. It was a mich better performance than against 7th ranked Lex Cath. Looking forward to seeinf him against Moeller next week and as he develops througout the year.
