  1. Does anyone have a breakdown by Region? Because this is what it really boils down to in order to get a state playoff birth ...
  2. Good for the Crusaders! I like the pitching rotation with Crowe for the setup...
  3. Clyde, I am sincerely sorry. You are obviously more connected and know exactly who is going to start in 2017-2018. More importantly, I would like to apologize to Aiden and the BGP community. This is supposed to be about him and I followed others down this path. Congrats again Aiden! You are going to have a blast playing ball in Memphis ...
  4. Agreed. I will add that it also takes pitching depth to get through the regions and state tourneys. Who has the most depth on the mound in the 9th? Is Cooper deep? I know Highlands is.
  5. Are the seeds set? If so, when do Districts start?
  6. I'm fine with that if you stop saying the starting spots are full when there are still 6 months before the season starts. I would hate for any kid to think a spot can't be his if they work hard enough and earn it...
  7. Lol, it is interesting that that's what you noticed or chose to comment on in my recent posts bc I also complimented some players, asked questions about others, etc. But you are right, I have no problem stating my opinion or repeating what I have heard from parents, players, other coaches, etc. This site is 99% about opinions. The coaches at CCH are in a unique situation with all their talent and I am sure it is difficult to manage! Yet, a good problem to have ...
  8. Interesting thoughts. M. Maher is no better than Fleek - I think they averaged the same in JV but Maher gets more attention due to his bloodline. Davin will likely get more looks being Fredricks nephew. Is AJ definitely playing now that he has officially accepted Miami's offer? A lot can happen in the off season so don't sell anyone short. It is an interesting hoops dynamic in Park Hills!
  9. Coldiron is def the top hitter in the CCH group of sophomores. And Casteel is clearly their leading 10th grade pitcher. What is Stallman doing? I am suprised McGinnis is not playing up but then again, I have learned not to be suprised by anything Krumps does.
  10. Great event going on this weekend in Louisville! 16 courts all in one convention hall - hardwood from UK, Indiana State, and others in the area. College coaches in the house including UL, Bellarmine, Centre, EKU, Morehead, Murray State, WKU ... 14U through 17U teams playing from all over the region: Indy, Detroit, Cleveland, Pitt, CBus, Dayton, Cincy, WVa, Bama, St. Louis, Knoxville, Nashville, Roanoke, Florida, and Chicago is heavily represented. Kentucky teams include: Charlotte Court Defenders NKY Squad Top Prospects Heat Bluegrass Elite I am sure there are others but I don't know all the names unless they have KY in them. ;-( Please tell us how your team and or players are doing ...
  11. LOL, you are not agreeing but rather appear to be challenging my humble opinion that Kunkel should be ranked higher. The box score shows that Kunkel put up 24 points in the biggest game of his career (up to that point). These points did not come from Cooper's defense. Yes, Cooper's defense played amazing and kept CJ to 7 and CVH to 13 for a combined 20 which is 4 points less than Kunkel's total. CJ is touted for his shooting. Cooper played Zone the entire game which is a dream for a shooter. At that point, it was the biggest game of their high school careers and Kunkel was clearly the best player on the court. I am not trying to compare CJ and Adam but rather stating that, in my opinion, Adam should be ranked higher. They are both amazing players and have big futures ahead of them ...
  12. I couldn't agree more - basketball is obviously a team sport. Successful teams will have various players step up different nights depending on match-ups and a variety of factors. Few teams get out of the 9th region without a team effort. CCH started 5 college bound athletes and was touted for having tremendous depth (yet only played 6 players) and lost as a team. The point I was trying to make is that big players step up on big nights. Kunkel had a big night in the region championship and led his team to a victory against one of the best teams in the state. In my opinion, from various games I have seen around the state, I think Kunkel should be ranked higher.
  13. Miles from Walton is a 10th grader and the best shot blocker in NKY. His offense is improving. Cozart from Madison Central will be a Junior and is probably the best shot blocker in the state. Needs to develop his shot. Walter from Cov Cath, if he plays the way he is capable, should be a force on both sides of the court.
  14. I would put Adam Kunkel higher. He certainly outperformed Fredrick in the 9th Region Championship and was clearly the best player on the court that night. Adam also led Cooper to runner up in the state championship.
  15. Yeah, they are playing some good ball and are loaded with some of the top NKY 10th graders. They lost in the Bearcat Classic to NKY Squad (with Miles and Fleek) but otherwise have been dominating tourneys. Macke has done a good job recruiting players. Phreim and Allen (when he is with them) are the two stand outs that I have seen play on the Royals.
  16. What's with all the KY kids playing for an Indiana team? I didn't realize Thelen and Davin were only 15. Glad to see Davin playing again!
  17. Go Jack! He has an athletes name which is fitting because he is an all around player!
  18. Add the 10th grade Royals and Squad both from NKY. They seem to always beat each other out of tournaments.
  19. That's a good group of boys! Where was this tourney and how many teams were in it? I thought all the teams were in the Bearcat Classic.
  20. They apparently won their last 4 games by a combined 6 points; two by 2 each and two by 1 each. That is amazing!
  21. I didn't like both teams playing Zone most of the game - especially in AAU and with so much talent!!! I know Macke likes to play zone. And I imagine Grubbs played Zone to offset depth. Or maybe it was because they both hoped to be playing 3 more games that day to win the championship. Fleek's (CCH) jumpers were the difference for the Squad. He must have had 20. And Phreim (Roger Bacon) must have had over half of the Royals points. In the final minutes they put Fleek on Phreim in a man to man which changed it up a little. Both are incredible ballers!
  22. This was a great tournament! In the 10th grade, there were 39 teams: NKY teams and players: Royals White (Houston – Holy Cross, Deere - CCH, Walter – Cooper, Allen – Pendleton, Ohmer – Scott, Phreim – Roger Bacon, Jolly – Campbell, Lawrence – Campbell, Pappas - Badin …) Royals Blue – (Knochelman – Holy Cross, Macke – Holy Cross, Shumate – Dixie, Deathridge – Beechwood, King – Highlands …) NKY Squad (Miles – WV, Jones – WV, Grubbs - WV, Pardee – WV, Fleek – CCH, Krohman – SK …) KY Force (Rankin – Ryle, Bruner …) Other notables from KY: Vision from Southern KY, Charlotte Court (Lex), Western KY Elite, KVO Ballers … Others from around the region: Ohio Unity (Cincy), 2 Shining Stars, 2 Indiana Red teams, Cincy Lakers, Cincy Rise, Columbus 101, Erie Ice, Ohio Bulldogs, Rail City Attack, Dayton Metro, 2 Cleveland SMAC teams, Mid Ohio Pumas, Cincy Royals, All OH Wolves, OH Premier …
  23. I see that these teams are playing in the Bearcat Classic. Which is the Blue roster and which is white?
  24. Wow, that's some good 10th grade ballers!!!
