Thanks. I am trying to work through possible game times for the rest of the week.

I watched the game on NFHS so don't know the exact stats. From the scoreboard they shot 16% from the three. They were outscored 13-4 I believe in the third quarter. They also don't go very deep on the bench. They seemed to do well driving to the basket, but after the first quarter the outside shooting certainly wasn't the 50% or so that they have been all season. Neither team played great IMO, but HC hit more of their 3's and went 8 deep.

Covington Holy Cross beats McCracken County in the opening round 55-52.

Agreed I think it is multifactorial, but the biggest reason is Nejai and as a team it doesn't matter who scores. If doubling one opens another, then opponents will have to choose. Also the Indians have been going much deeper to the bench than last year. So far there have been 8 in the regular rotation and another 2 that have played more than mop up minutes in all but one game each. They have been resting their starters more than last year so Julia isn't expected to play the entire game. As Baseball Nut said next week will be the true test as they try to put it all together.

Final from the Finn. It was an ugly game but the Indians came away with the win. The Indians were lead by Nejai Lewis who once again was strong underneath and scored 21 I believe. Scott was led by former Indian Presley Grant. Next up for the Indians McCracken County Monday in the first game of the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament.

I just looked online and there seems to be tickets available. Maybe they sold a certain amount presale. My son’s friend told him they sold out in four hours.

I don’t know the answer to the question, but if that is true, Holy Cross students weren’t notified or given the opportunity to buy any.

The Brossart game is no big deal. We play them every year anyway. The other two are a hike and we generally play NCC, Bellevue, and Ludlow anyway so it wouldn’t really be a change just we would actually be in their division instead of Beechwood. A long drive every other year did Nicholas county wouldn’t be that big a deal. We just already have establish relationships with the other teams.

That would leave five in one district with HC having some pretty significant travel by NKY standards. I would hope they keep HC in an NKY district not ship them south.

Final St Henry held it close the first half with HC having a couple of girls in foul trouble and not hitting the three well. The Indians pulled away in the second half. Unkraut played tough for the Cru. HC played 10 deep with meaningful minutes and got some playing time for a couple others. Once the Indians start jelling they should be a pretty tough team.

Agreed. How did he not know his grades? My two college kids know their grades and one is a student athlete. Granted there are some professors that are not timely turning in grades, but I would think you would only be ineligible if there was a grade in the book. Now why a college that pays tutors and compliance personal to hold the athletes hands did not know about it is a whole other issue.

We were there also. There was one point in the end fo the first half where is was very obvious Oscar was gassed. He was calling for a sub but there weren't any breaks in the action. It was almost to the point I was thinking Cal maybe should have used a time out to get him out of the game. Frederick played way too much for how little he contributes. He kept trying to double team leaving bad mismatches and wouldn't know help side if it slapped him in the face. It was completely an away game although for being 2,000 miles away there were a fair amount of UK fans there. Wallace has alot of work to do. He is way too inconsistent. Kentuckys field goal percentage was 39% overall and 24% from the three. That won't win games

I am not so sure about Wallace. His turnovers against Michigan State almost single-handedly cost us the game the last few minutes and overtime. He had a couple terrible passes today at the end of the game just literally throwing the ball to nobody. Maybe someone was supposed to be there but he does it multiple times a game I’m hoping it is freshman mistakes and he learns how to pass Sunday. He started out doing ok today then not so much.

It is kind of sad because all the people we have talked to have been great. That just makes them look trashy.

10 fouls to 2 in the second half. At least we have hit a couple do shots, but still can’t play defense. I am at the game. It is a fun atmosphere. Was the F Kentucky chant that the students keep doing audible on TV?

Holy Cross was without three seniors who were on their senior trip. Most importantly without their senior point guard Aleah Arlinghaus. They need to figure out a back up for her to give her breathers and in case of foul trouble.

The Indians held it close in the first half then just ran out of gas. They had several injuries and kids out sick this week that killed their already lack of depth. If they can keep their middle school team going and keep those kids at Holy Cross for high school they will be in a decent position to finally rebuild from graduating basically their entire team 6? years ago. They are only graduating 4 this year so will have some experience coming back.

I could be wrong but I thought Holy Cross was going to be in it and then dropped out when Meyer left.

I will be very interested to see how the Indians do this year. I think obviously Meyer can carry them pretty far but they need to use Gibson and stay out of foul trouble. They graduated all their depth and role players last year. This team will only have three kids that had any significant varsity time last year and all three are prone to foul trouble. They need to play smart and HC could do very well this year.

Yeah injuries suck. The soccer player was the last week of the season in a makeup game. Ugh. What bad luck. Torn hamstring. I am not sure if surgery will be required.

Wimzie should be back at some point. She is doing some running now but not sure when cutting and contact will happen.
