The Indians put up 89 points without Meyer. Everyone stepped up and Zach Arlinghaus was on fire from the three. It was a nice tune up for the All A. Hopefully Meyer will be back.

It was a very interesting game to say the least. Lloyd hit their shots and played strong. They stopped Meyer from driving impressively only fouling him one time with well over a dozen drives. Three technicals called on HC. The first on Meyer for “taunting” those who know me know I put up with non of that crap at all. T them all up, but for holding up three fingers after hitting a three. I thought it was a very soft call. At the end of the first half it was Holy Cross 9 fouls Lloyd 2. I will just leave that stat alone. Credit to the Juggs for hitting their shots and a nice win. Meyer went down in the fourth quarter after another drive with lots of contact. He didn’t go back in but at that point the game was getting out of hand and with the All A state next week I wouldn’t have chanced it even if he was OK. Holy Cross emptied the bench with 2.00 left

Agree I think HC total enrollment is 320-340. Also if you look closely at the numbers from the former alignment the number of boys put in for 17/18 is actually the total enrollment not number of boys. So when the average is done with more accurate numbers they were actually just on the cusp of 1A depending on what that number really was. They were trending down. It would have been close. How will that work with the districts? Currently the NKY 1A is Bellevue, Dayton, NCC, Ludlow with Brossart playing in a more southern district correct?

It was not a pretty game but the Indians ground it out. They played with several players in foul trouble hindering their defense and were also missing Hoffman their defensive specialist. Hamilton had a nice game. When he picked up his fourth foul with about four minutes left in the game he had to lay off on defense and the Indians made their comeback. Lots of points points by Hamilton, Davies, Meyer and Ward but I don’t have the stats.

NCC made a great comeback. I was getting worried but the Indians finished strong. It should be fun with the boys and girls in Richmond. Javier Ward had a nice game. The technical definitely did not help hold off the NCC surge, but in the end it didn’t make a difference thankfully. Survive and advance.

The scoreboard at the end of the game was 71-65. Not sure if it was incorrect but I have a picture of it.

He was a beast tonight. I would love to see his percentage. He was also a force on defense also.

The Indians were up 19 with less than four minutes in the game and the Cru made a nice run, but the Indians held on to advance to the finals tomorrow at 7 at TMU

This should be an interesting game. I don't know much about Paris but the mutual opponent is Montgomery County who beat HC handily, but lost to Paris. Looking at the stats Paris shot 53% from the three when their season avg is 25% and Montgomery County shot 8% season avg 25%. Was it a live by the three die by the three night? Who knows but I bet Coach Arlighaus will be checking out the film to get the Indians ready.

I wasn't there but I was told that Holy Cross played poorly the first half and then came out of the locker room for the second half and pulled away. I totally agree that the live by the three die by the three is a gamble. Hunt is the leading scorer and probably touches the ball more than everyone but Arlighaus the point guard. She just gets doubled and has defenses sag on her so it is tough.

Ludlow played a very aggressive game and had the lead at halftime. However the Indians started hitting their shots and pulled ahead in the fourth quarter for the win.

The Indians held on to beat NCC despite a third quarter run by the Breds. With the Indians focusing the defense on Turner, Eaglin was able to take advantage and scored 25 most from the three point line. The Indians will take on Ludlow tomorrow for the championship.

no one is sagging on Meyer obviously. Example last year the scouting report on a team was player xyz (not the 5 position) will not shoot from the outside. Do no guard them, sag in the paint to help when player abc drives or help side. It was starter on a solid team not some random player on a weak team. I didn't believe it until I saw it at the game starter xyz would not take the wide open shot or even drive. The defender sat in the paint and picked up the drives and help side. If defender's are forced to pick then maybe you aren't tripled on every drive. They won't be leaving the lane wide open but it will sure be less congested or if they do all sag we have someone to kick it out to who can shoot from the outside. The ball won't have to be forced into the middle every time.

I think maybe this is has strayed from my intention of balance scoring. I am not putting down anyone. I hope Meyer scores 50 a game if it helps the team. I am merely stating that if we have more people shooting and more people scoring it will force the defense to spread a little. That will clear up the middle and Meyer will have an easier drive to the basket as opposed to trying to weave through four people who are all sagging because they know their man is not going to shoot. Having the four spot being a viable three point option helps everyone. Three shooters on the perimeter, Jacob driving and a 6-10 Gibson underneath is going to make the defense have to think long and hard who they are going to leave open to double down on Meyer. It will also spread the zone.

Balanced scoring means not relying on one player beating a double team every night to win. Meyer is a great player and clearly has been successful in many games this season, but we will be a better team with more options. The 4 and 5 position avg 6,2 points per game combined. If we can get them more involved in the offense I think we win a couple of those games we lost and hopefully do better in the All A and post season. I didn’t really see Dylan play a sophomore or junior year due to not having a kid play and Covid but as a freshman he shot the three. He had a key three in the Holy Cross Covington Catholic JV game that Holy Cross went on to win. Not sure what happened though because I haven’t seen him shoot it much this year. I hope he keeps shooting. We need more balanced scoring.

It was a good game. Harold just killed us. I feel like we didn’t do a good job getting at least a hand in his face. He had a lot of wide-open shots. Not smart to leave a 40% shooter wide-open in his favorite spot. I feel like the Indians still need to do a better job utilizing Gibson on offense. Dylan Arlinghaus had one heck of a game. He was a rebounding machine and had a couple of threes. He is always an aggressive player but I think this was the best game I’ve seen him play all year. What did Barth get the warning for? I saw him riding the refs some so was it just that or did something happen that I missed.

I am looking forward to it. It should be a great game. It is a big week for the Indians to show what kind of team they are.

Well that stinks. My kids liked to go there a couple times a year and have been hoarding their prize points for about five years so they could get something "good". lol. They were just there before Christmas and no one there told them. oh well.

I really wish they didn't line for football. It is nice watching a soccer game on a soccer field.
