Final from the Finn.  It was an ugly game but the Indians came away with the win.  The Indians were lead by Nejai Lewis who once again was strong underneath and scored 21 I believe.  Scott was led by former Indian Presley Grant.  Next up for the Indians McCracken County Monday in the first game of the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament.

For @rjaland @Baseball Nut 24I notice Julia isn't scoring like last year, is this her getting back into basketball shape, or is it her getting used to having another player in the post with her (Lewis) and getting comfortable being in high post and on the perimeter more often?  When she gets going consistently with Nejai Lewis, they will be formidable around the basket and on the glass every night.

Could still re rounding into basketball shape but teams at least so far teams are still double-teaming her with a front and back player. The beneficiary of that has been Najai Lewis who has been guarded one on one and she has been off to a great start. If this was last year I'd be much more worried about her "lower" scoring games but as a TEAM, I think having 2 post players is obviously a huge benefit for the team in the long run. She still leads the team in scoring at 12.7 ppg we just have more balance scoring this year.

They are 7-1 and really haven't played a complete game yet. They will get a huge test next week when they play in the Queen of the Commonwealth at Bullitt East. They play McCracken County on Monday so we will see how they can stack up against the better teams down state in this tournament and then the All "A" in January. ?

Agreed I think it is multifactorial, but the biggest reason is Nejai and as a team it doesn't matter who scores. If doubling one opens another, then opponents will have to choose.  Also the Indians have been going much deeper to the bench than last year.  So far there have been 8 in the regular rotation and another 2 that have played more than mop up minutes in all but one game each.  They have been resting their starters more than last year so Julia isn't expected to play the entire game.  As Baseball Nut said next week will be the true test as they try to put it all together.
