  1. Anderson must be a dumpster fire. #youdidthatfor10years Cute. A lot of material - I’ll leave it alone. Hang on to those fond memories.
  2. Nice tid bit, but not a game changer. 9 dunks later...I’d say the opening tip is irrelevant. But, I can see where the kids would get a charge out of that.
  3. Correct on the move back to Highlands for the 88-89 season. Came back to Park Hills the following year.
  4. 1989, Saturday afternoon game in Park Hills. A 19-0 Birds win.
  5. Coach L has been a dedicated coach for a long, long time. He cares about kids and is a terrific person. Won a few ball games along the way, too. He’s a credit to NKY high school basketball.
  6. Wow. How many TD passes for AJ? Colonel D needs to tighten up.
  7. He’s just stirring the pot, and he’s wrong on all fronts. Move on.
  8. I was being sarcastic. I agree with you 100%.
  9. But apparently, those 87 guys couldn’t cover anyone on this year’s team.
  10. My point is being missed. Coach Ray called this the best team ever. He didn’t say the 87 D couldn’t cover ANY of the 17 skill guys. No argument as to who the better team was. I just felt like the 87 D was being unfairly disregarded in a previous comment. That team had some length, speed and toughness in the defensive backfield. Never would think they’d contain this offense entirely, but they wouldn’t run roughshod either. And no, I was not a member of the 87 team. Contrary to what maybe some believe, kids could run a little in the 80s, too. Completely different base defense (53). Completely different training, coaching philosophy, etc. Congrats to the 17 team. Best ever. And for the record, I don’t think the 87 team was the best of the state title teams before 17. But, that D could play a little.
  11. Fundamentally opposed to this whole “best ever” discussion. The ‘17 team was spectacular. To say the ‘87 D couldn’t cover any of the ‘17 weapons is inaccurate. I’ll stop at that.
  12. Not sure if you would count the Ivy’s as D1. If so, Mike Wilson, Paul Hladon, Scott Spivey and Brian Williams were also part of the ‘87 team. I believe all lettered as well.
  13. Wonder about his status as a baseball prospect. If he’s a true 4.6 guy with pop in his bat, he’d make for an attractive corner outfielder. Hit cleanup for CCH as a Soph.
  14. Dan is a Highlands grad. Grew up in Kenton Co, but made the understandable decision to go to Highlands to play hoops for Uncle Kenny. There are 4 Shields boys in Dan’s family - the oldest went to CCH, the two middle boys (including Dan) went to HHS and the youngest to CCH.
  15. Sean Dineen ‘87 - Penn Chris Walker ‘93 - Duquesne
  16. First of all, I know Scott Co has a great team. So does CCH. Secondly, congrats on the big scrimmage win. Score comparisons, don’t matter much, especially scrimmages. But, employing your logic, Cov Cath’s Home court advantage is worth 25+ points. I highly doubt it. The only way to know who’s better is to lace em up and go head to head. Maybe that’ll happen in March, maybe not. Again, congrats on that scrimmage...
  17. ...And Scott Co lost to Moeller by 19. Just saying. LOL
  18. Disagree on the “not even close”.
  19. Fern Creek is quick, poised, long and can flat shoot the rock. Very impressive. 70 points on CCH isn’t easy. The games today should be awesome.
