F. CovCath can do a lot of damage this year, but they need to minimize turnovers against elite pressure, and figure out a way to spread some minutes around to avoid wear-and-tear and exhaustion on key players.

Teams become much better in testers like this. Both teams, hopefully, will keep improving. Losing is never an outcome teams and coaches want, but losing is not a bad thing if you learn from it.

How much depth does CovCath have at the guard position right now? As far as ball handlers with quickness.

 

I know they are loaded with size and skill but when you face athletic teams who can press you need some crafty, quick ball handlers and it appears Ruthsatz is on an island out there.

A lot of the foul trouble was caused by the quickness of Fern Creek.

 

I would like to see a replay of the offensive foul on Frederick in the second quarter that sent him to the bench with 3 fouls. Looked like a block from my angle in the gym. The non-call when Mayer got ran over under the basket still is another interesting call. Ref standing right there watching and just shook his head.

 

I would have left Nowak in to start the 4th. He finished up the 3rd when Ruthsatz picked up his 4th foul and the Colonels had build some momentum with Nowak.

 

Tomorrow's game with Cooper will be a doozy. Kunkel was at least the 2nd best player on the floor in the Cooper-Trinity game.

I didn't realize Cov Cath was so big until saw them in person. Poor Frederick just had one of those nights when nothing was going in. From what I've read CCH traveled back and forth from Covington for each game. I would think that that would eventually catch up with you. Fern Creek has 10 seniors on their team, so they know how to handle pressure.

Fern Creek is quick, poised, long and can flat shoot the rock. Very impressive. 70 points on CCH isn’t easy.

My guess would be that if CovCath were playing any other team there could be a slight drop off in interest, but the fact that it's Cooper makes a world of difference in them snapping to attention.

There were some bad calls against both teams but Cov. Cath shot 27 free throws to Fern Creek's 17 so I dont think the referees hurt CCH too much , I saw a lot of ticky tack fouls that went against FC.

Wouldn't you think Covcath would be up for this game, especially what happen this past year in finals in 9th region when Cooper put it to them.

The Colonels will be ready, but AJ means a lot on the court not just for his skill set(he is coming along from football way quicker than I thought he would), but he is also the emotional leader. I for one think Cooper is the favorite in the first of 3 battles this year.
