  1. As usual, like nails on a chalkboard... A talented, hard working Notre Dame team of high school girls, lost to a talented, hardworking St Henry team of high school girls. Good luck to St Henry. Your venom for the private high schools in Park Hills is more consistent than Cal Ripken.
  2. A step further... How many have 2 starters committed to D1, Power 5 conference programs? Very very impressive. Congrats to the Cooper kids, too.
  3. Hard to disagree. I'm excited by the fact that they still have plenty to improve upon. I hope they keep their head down and keep grinding.
  4. No, not around in late 80's/early 90's. I'm guessing running clock is 10-15 years old now? Maybe 20? Definitely a good rule, except for the backups that could use precious reps.
  5. Well said. As an example of different eras, as great as the '17 Colonel D is, they've already given up more regular season points (56) than the '87 D allowed in an 11 game regular season (51). With that said, two different styles, different schedules. Both outstanding defenses in their time. This team's D, while not without some needed improvement, has me really excited.
  6. In terms of "skill players", and I hate that term, I'd challenge anyone to name a better all around player than #3 on the scoring list.
  7. No dude, they had the privilige of performing behind you. It all starts up front.
  8. Let's get into a 2017 comparison. Unless they award each team a point for state titles before kickoff, history is irrelevant.
  9. Probably not the entire list, but... Mike Wilson Scott Tranter Jason Guenther Mike Flesch Dana Granger (?) Dan Martin Brian Williams David Wilson Jeff Rensing Dan Flesch Jason Baute Bill Curree Paul Spellman Gary Snyder Scott Spivey I'm sure I'm missing some.
  10. Great thread topic. I think the Cov Cath answer is Beechwood. But, there was a time when those Boone Co openers were awfully fun and awfully meaningful. There may or may not have been a CCH coach (and Boone Co alum) who almost always quit smoking in the offseason, only to resume right before boarding Big Blue to head to Irv Goode Field to renew pleasantries with Coach Hauck.
  11. Cov Cath Anyone can submit a nomination to the AD. The nominated candidates must be 10 years out of HS, at minimum. There is a committee of long time coaches, boosters, administrators that vote. Inductees are notified around Thanksgiving and banquet in January. Each inductee receives a plaque and a few minutes at the podium.
  12. Because he was ill all week. Jones is an every down LT when healthy. Study more film, Jaws.
  13. Just for the sake of accuracy, Ryle drilled CCH last year. 31-13 or so. Way too early to crown anyone. Good ball club. Needs to stay healthy.
