#1 5A Covington Catholic vs BYE Sept 29th at BYE home Field.
Run its course. Please make it stop.

What's your team's biggest non-district rival?
Great thread topic. I think the Cov Cath answer is Beechwood. But, there was a time when those Boone Co openers were awfully fun and awfully meaningful. There may or may not have been a CCH coach (and Boone Co alum) who almost always quit smoking in the offseason, only to resume right before boarding Big Blue to head to Irv Goode Field to renew pleasantries with Coach Hauck.

How does your school do a Hall of Fame?
Another Jack Kaelin legacy...

How does your school do a Hall of Fame?
Cov Cath Anyone can submit a nomination to the AD. The nominated candidates must be 10 years out of HS, at minimum. There is a committee of long time coaches, boosters, administrators that vote. Inductees are notified around Thanksgiving and banquet in January. Each inductee receives a plaque and a few minutes at the podium.

How good is Covington Catholic?
Just for the sake of accuracy, Ryle drilled CCH last year. 31-13 or so. Way too early to crown anyone. Good ball club. Needs to stay healthy.

Sounds like a great game.

Bourbon County 5 Campbell County 1
Just beat Harrison Co.

Conner 7 Covington Catholic 4
Conner did a nice job of attacking in "plus" situations. I was impressed by the agressive attitude. They took the game to CCH and the Colonels flinched. Congrats to Conner.

Drew Rom of Highlands has Committed
He'd have to study proctology to figure that out.

Drew Rom of Highlands has Committed
Thanks - Columbia won the Ivy a year or two ago. Wish XU could have enticed him to Victory Parkway, but, hard to say no to an opportunity to play at Michigan.

Drew Rom of Highlands has Committed
Awesome news. Other than Michigan, where else was he considering? Great school! Hopefully, he has another option to consider, come June. This commitment gives him some negotiating leverage.

Does the Northern Kentucky Boys Basketball Coaches Assoc. need to look in the mirror?
Maybe - but I also think the family tie is a unique wrinkle to consider. I have also heard that the Davin boys are related to the Fredericks, but I may be completely wrong. So, it may not be a pipeline, as much as it is a unique family dynamic - i.e. the chance to play for Uncle Joe, who like him or not, seems to do a good job as a shooting coach, and has some unique college recruiting ties. With all of that said, I have no idea where some of the kids in the program have come from - especially in the FR/SO classes.

Exactly right. Should be a lot of fun.

Does the Northern Kentucky Boys Basketball Coaches Assoc. need to look in the mirror?
The kids that live out of district and choose to attend CCH are not sell outs. Folks that choose to dislike CCH - knock yourself out - I get it and I understand the Duke analogy. CCH fans, alums, players and boosters couldn't care less. Line up and play - best team wins. Very good chance that's Cooper this year. They are VERY talented, well coached and TOUGH. As a CCH fan, I hope the Colonels earn the right to advance and take on the best, whoever that may be.

CovCath QB Mayer receives his first D1 offer.
I think, to an extent, playing hoops works in his favor with regard to recruiting. Showcases some multi-faceted athleticism. I believe Urban Meyer offered Malik Hooker after watching him play basketball. Not comparing Mayer to Hooker, but using as an illustration.

Top Wide Receivers in NKY 2017
You missed the joke. The original thread title said "Top Wider Receivers".
-
Covington Catholic 65 Madison Central 47
Roughly 14 points, handful of blocks. His length and athleticism gave CCH some trouble in the paint. Plays hard - I don't recall him leaving the floor.
-
Top Wide Receivers in NKY 2017
Those guys don't seem big enough to be considered wider receivers.
