Indians lose to No. 6 CovCatholic

 

The Indians weren’t able to overcome turnovers on the road against No. 6 Covington Catholic on Friday.

 

Madison Central had 15 turnovers, which led to 20 points and suffered a 65-47 loss in the regular-season finale.

 

Sophomore center Isaiah Cozart led Central (17-13) with 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Jacori Miller had 10 points. Kenyon McKee had nine points. Isaiah Minter and Michael Roberts had five points each and Dustin Gerald finished with four points.

 

The loss snapped the Indians’ five-game winning streak.

 

Central shot just 37 percent from the field, including 5-of-13 from three-point range.

 

The Indians are set to return to action Tuesday against Model in the semifinals of the 44th District Tournament at McBrayer Arena.

Whomever had Cozart for 3 blocks needs a better abacus. Way light.
