  1. I do have to say though it does seem like st.x defense is very good at forcing turnovers, and have good backs that kept up pretty well with male's WR's
  2. I'm not sure about jackson, but you are right it is 2015, but historical comparisons were made, and so they were then discussed, but I also did state that it appears both of these teams this year are different and so comparisons will do little. let us just hope that both can make it far enough that we can just see how the game is played out on the field.
  3. Are you sure it is b/c they are #1 seed? I thought home field advantage took turns after the first 2 rounds regardless of seed
  4. E-town and paris have the biggest chance but I think paris will tough it out. E-town might go down to the wire. both should be fun games to watch, see if these guys who have not necessarily been hardened by their regular season are the real deal. most of the other teams have proven themselves at some point.
  5. yeah it has taken some time but this is the year it has truly paid off because they are willing to commit to the play style no matter what. It seems to be the defense mechanism reaction from the offensive coordinator in big games to revert back to the 90's strategy of run and pound. I think it is different this year. more confidence in the new offense, more experience, and they have done it no matter what, even against cov cath or other big games, they stuck with the new offense. Beechwood may have finally dug their way out of the 90's playbook and entered the new world.
  6. That is what will make the potential matchup so interesting, b/c its a completely evolved BW offense and Russelville is getting better and has made some changes as well. These are both different teams than when Mayfield played them in years past.
  7. I don't know about Williamsburg but one of the main reasons hazard won state in 2011 was because Mayfield's RB (who was the majority of their offense and somewhat defense) got hurt in the BW game and played less than a qtr of play in the state game. I also believe that Mayfield seemed to struggle focusing early game, but got better throughout the playoffs. A lot of the time in the earlier weeks of the playoffs for Mayfield, teams had a chance b/c of Mayfield first half mistakes they had to make up for in second half, which they never seemed to do by the time they reached Beechwood. usually BW has similar 1st half issues, but at least this year's team looks different. more prone to shooting out of the gate hard but struggle a little in closing out games. Mayfield was always the best team at closing out wins.
  8. are the ticket booths open at papa johns at all to prepurchase tickets or do I have to buy them at either trinity or stx?
  9. Not promised, but there is the hint that since you are a preferred walk-on, if you work hard and are beneficial to the team, perhaps junior or senior year some scholarship money will come your way. no promises but big chances to earn it.
  10. fine with me. The issue has to be handled eventually. the sooner the better
  11. "way to work that little dig in " hello again. I see you doing the same
  12. You must consider how difficult CCH's schedule was this year. record is not everything. and although russelville may be excited, they may also have a fear that Mayfield was the only thing standing in the way of beechwood dealing the same damage Mayfield did to them every year, just a week later in the playoffs.
  13. At the same time its good to say that stuff. Help the kids really cherish the moments.
  14. I remember in high school as we got deeper into the playoffs my coach would state "96 teams in state still playing football this week. Will you be one of the one of the 48 next week?" and so on. It got pretty intense as the numbers got smaller, knowing you were one of the last ones, all eyes on you, waiting to see if yours is the team to fall this week or to make another jump closer to eternal glory.
  15. Just interested, how would you change it? There are benefits to both styles, specifically to BW I think one of the reasons they do it the way they do is because one of BW's big advantages is a team committed to constant learning, resulting in a large playbook, which can be tough to contain on an arm band or something of that nature and a desire to give a sense of steady methodical drives that eat away at the defense. What would be your solution/how would you change it?
  16. When NCC played Beechwood I'm sure it was fun watching Smith and Slusher go back and forth. wish I could've been there. Would've been fun to see 2 of NKY's best athletes goin at it all night.
  17. most "enthusiastic" fan bases from each area. Could that be a good thread? or is it too edgy/ would cause a lot of "aggressive" discussion?
  18. Don't respond or argue with him. It's like throwing feces at a monkey. They like it and will most likely keep throwing it back.
  19. I think St.X offense is looking better. They'll need to keep digging in the playbook to try and catch trinity off guard though. I'd like to see more of their option play. That's a tough play to always stop and at least cause a lot of in game adjustment for trinity defense. If St.X can have a good offensive night, should be a fun game. excited to watch some good defense on both sides
  20. In recent times attendance has seemed to be lacking. They appear to have gone from the "crazies" to the "mildly excited"
  21. It can be viewed by many as an advantage, especially early in the season when most teams are used to cool summer nights and CCH is used to waking up to the smell of football and hot Saturday afternoons, but I say the better team should be able to come out and win any day of the week, whether it be at midnight or 7 in the morning.
