If you think about it, French has done even more than the above. He has gone from Lincoln County (State Semi-Finals) to Boyle (went from 6-6 I believe to 13-1 the next year). That's not including Mercer County/Meade County.

I too think I would have to seriously consider Towles at QB for the way he dominated in High School. Also, I noticed very little love for Collingsworth.

In HS career, few had a greater impact on a game than Van Cleave of Danville. His speed was blinding and hard to catch on a high school football field.

I’m not sure they have three losing seasons in their history. Seriously.

One could also add that the Rebels have one of the best players in the freshman class this year that has already been offered by UL. Add to that one of the best kickers in the state who is a Sophomore this season. There are definitely still tools in the shed to work with at Boyle.

It was a great game. Boyle trailed by 10 I thought with about three minutes left. Blocked a punt. Scored on the ensuing drive. Shanked next punt and Boyle kicked FG with time running out to tie. Two OT’s later Boyle won.

I've noticed it too. My guess is that there are more Boyle than JC fans here. I'd also note that Boyle lost by 1 point, a missed EP. They were one play from perhaps winning the game. It's not like it was a landslide by the Eagles.

Let me offer a counter-hypothetical to what Jack asked. What if Brandon were to come to Boyle as the Head Coach and Chuck stay to coach the Defense with Hester leaving Brandon to coach the offense? Hmmmm. Best of all worlds??? :idunno:

I seem to remember a Bowling Green - Cov Cath final that came down to the end. The first Danville-Mayfield matchup in 87 was pretty exciting. Mayfield overcame a 17-7 deficit in the 4th to tie it. In the overtime Danville took the lead and then blocked the EP of Mayfield to win it.

That’s why I thought Boyle and Cov Cath would have been a good matchup.

Corbin should be higher in 4A.

24-23 in 1 Overtime. Mayfield went to tie it after they scored and Walker blocked it.
