I was only surprised with the low score in this one but not the result. Woodford has had a lot of success in years past vs. 8th region teams, do not be surprised if Woodford pulls off the win Friday night.

Could care less who wins this one, but the atmosphere alone will be worth the price of admission. Friday night, Kentucky tournament time, district championship, GRC vs. Montgomery, that gym will be full and rocking so do not be surprised if people are turned away at the door.

I feel like several of these upsets were regional favorites, let along district favorites. Ohio Co, Murray, Bourbon, Henry Clay.......got to love Kentucky Tournament Time!

In the 11th region add: Douglass over Henry Clay Frankfort over Great Crossing ...I think in both cases it was the 4 seed knocking off the #1 seed. In the 10th: Montgomery over Bourbon

Any coach should be encouraged to go to any game at any level as often as they can, however, that is where it should end. I do not like the idea of coaches talking to other players and parents from schools not in their feeder system, not even if it is parent initiated.......

Woodford has struggled with Penn out of the game whether it is from injury, illness, or fouls, it has been tough for Woodford to score and get stops. However, when healthy and on the floor, I think they are a legitimate top contender in the 8th. SK peaking at the right time, yet another dangerous team to contend with. The 8th region tournament will be so exciting this year!!!!!!!!

Say what you want about home school teams and even this home school team, but I remember watching them last year and they had two legit players, really nice PG and a 6’6 post that made them a nice little team. They played hard and even knocked off a few sanctioned teams....

I think this game was just another reason why the 8th region tournament will be one of if not the most exciting regional tournament in the state this year, on any given night you have about 5-7 legit teams that could win the tournament!

Not trying to bash anyone, but the 10th region I feel like at this point is Bourbon Co/GRC 1a and 1b (can interchange any day) and then you have everyone else......

Anderson beat Woodford 63-58 on Saturday. Koby Penny is as good as advertised.

I think the answer to your question (what is wrong with Woodford County) was stated already. They have 3/4 really good players, players who have been scouted and rated by people who know a lot more about football than any of us. The core group around them is where there is a deficit. These young men that are questioned each week, have performed at high levels at their respective positions and have done what they have been asked to do. However, for example, when your 4-star UK committ lineman is playing defense and opposing teams continuously run outside/away from him, what more can the kid do....................and those goes for many of the D-1 kids that get unfairly criticized. Woodford is a couple of athletes away from being pretty good..............
