How about listing any upsets in the District Tournaments in this thread?

No buying this as an upset. I know Trinity isn't what they were last season and I know Waggener won the first game pretty big, but this was never going to be easy for Waggener. Trinity is still a solid club, no matter the record.

I would have to say that Eminence beating Owen County is a bit of an upset. The Warriors had won 4 games all year.

absolutely 100% an upset. I was hoping to see Teegan Moore play at districts on Wednesday but it was not meant to be. I enjoy a good underdog story. Credit to Eminence.

In the 11th region add:

Douglass over Henry Clay

Frankfort over Great Crossing

...I think in both cases it was the 4 seed knocking off the #1 seed.

In the 10th:

Montgomery over Bourbon

In the 15th Region:

Prestonsburg (8-17) over Betsy Layne (17-11) in double OT.

 

This is a big upset locally considering two of Prestonsburg's starters quit last week (Top overall scorer at 15.1 ppg and 3rd leading scorer at 9.4 ppg) and Betsy Layne had beat them twice in the regular season with those starters playing. Betsy Layne was a very talented squad.

1st region, Calloway over Murray. Murray had beat them twice and Murray was one of the favorites for the region.

Ohio County had beaten McLean County by 30 in the regular season, but then lost to them last night by 6.

I believe that Ohio Co. was considered one of, if not the favorite to win the 3rd region.
