I don't know for sure which ones will win, but I know which ones have a pretty decent chance of winning. In 3A, these teams have a fighting chance at pulling the mild upset: Hopkinsville over Paducah Tilghman Boyle Co. over Southwestern Highlands over CovCath Franklin Co. over LexCath (doubtful, IMHO, but possible) Bell Co. over Rockcastle Co. (see above )

Is this the best weekend of High School Football KY will see this year? Granted, obviously, there are bigger games to come, however, there are 64 teams still playing and MOST of them "could" win this weekend. Tons and tons of HUGE games. For my money, for sheer volume alone, I think this is as good as it gets for H.S. football in KY this fall. Huge games, teams all over the state involved, tremendous match-ups of top-ranked teams. Many questions will be answered this weekend....:thumb:

Just a quick note: let's make sure that we remember we are talking about young people, and let's not be overly critical of any of them involved. Any and all activity that is discussed needs to be kept above board. It was a bad situation, the administration handled it the way they best saw fit, and right or wrong, it's over. Lafayette losing was the biggest surprise to me. I wasn't shocked that Franklin Co. beat EJ, but I was taken aback at the margin on EJ's field. 3A, for the most part, went according to Hoyle this weekend -- assuming Grant Co. doesn't upset CCH today. :sssh:

Johnson Central backs up the hype and wins big at home next weekend.

Warren East backs up their district 2nd seed and advances to try and revenge the beating they took earlier in the year at the hands of the Purples. Nice win for Warren East. Congrats to F-S on a fine season!

Central, facing what many thought to be one of the better chances for a 4 to beat a 1, got back on the winning side of the ledger and knocked off a red-hot North Bullitt squad. This sets up a District Championship game that most predicted would occur all year: Central hosting Valley. Congrats to North Bullitt on a fine season. They rebounded the second half of the year to make the playoffs and obviously gave Central all they wanted. Nice season!

The McDonald's in Versailles will be rocking tonight!

As most predicted, a lot closer than the first game, but Rock was clearly going to be too much in this one. Rock hosting Bell next week will certainly be among the best games in the Commonwealth next Friday. Congrats to Clay Co. on a nice season.

Ouch. Franklin Co. survives to play LexCath next week. Ammons gets his chance at the big-time win next Friday. Congrats to EJ on a fine season and earning the #2 seed in the playoffs.

Wow, Boone Co. is the #1 seed and has some great opportunities laid out in front of them...and bang. Huge win for the Camels!!! Congrats Boone on bouncing back in the latter part of the season and earning the #1 seed in the playoffs. Keep your heads up. Good luck next week Camels v. Ryle.

I think most of NoKY (and probably the state) saw this one coming. NCC gets the "upset" win and advances, presumably, to play Beechwood for the District Championship. Holy Cross has nothing to hang their heads about! Great season for the Indians.

Guys, the Ashland / Russell petty argument has NO PLACE in this thread. You guys following each other round to hammer each other's programs is getting old. Calling another school soft is a direct violation of Rule #3. Let it go.

I'm not sure too many first round games will be on par with Franklin Co. at East Jessamine.
