What were the biggest upsets in Round 1?

Featured Replies

I know there were a couple of #4's beating #1's.....also, what were some suprising scores...

..One that got me was Campbell over Boone (more for tradition than anything else)...and Ballard's blowout over Seneca.

Woodford Co over Lafayette, Prestonsburg over Sheldon Clark, Leslie Co over Breathitt Co and Graves Co over Christian Co..... These are the ones that stand out to me...

Wasn't suprised with Woodford over Lafayette....the other 3..Yes.

Remember the Friday night the games around Central KY got delayed a few days due to lightning? Woodford and Lafayette were playing that night, and Woodford was up 2 scores when the weather interrupted play. On monday night when they resumed, Lafayette made the comeback.

Lafayette losing was the biggest surprise to me.

I wasn't shocked that Franklin Co. beat EJ, but I was taken aback at the margin on EJ's field.

3A, for the most part, went according to Hoyle this weekend -- assuming Grant Co. doesn't upset CCH today.;) :sssh:

:thumb: Why I wasn't suprised in this one.

I'm not an expert on either team, but, with Lafayette being unbeaten, the #1 seed and coming off a big win over Henry Clay, I was a little taken back by this outcome...

Glasgow beating Monroe was a shocker. Glasgow has been terrible this year.

I've been thinking for most of the season that Lafayette was overrated, but it's hard to argue with 10-0. And there's no way anyone could have predicted a 21-point loss to a #4 seed.

Didn't Campbell beat Boone during the regular season?
Didn't Campbell beat Boone during the regular season?
Yes, they beat Boone 48-21.

I think P-burg beat Sheldon Clark earlier this year too...

Graves over Christian was the biggest surprise to me, followed closely by Glasgow over Monroe.

Woodford over Lafayette was an eyebrow raiser, especially the margin.

I wasn't really surprised that Prestonsburg beat Sheldon Clark, I predicted the first upset and I felt the Blackcats could do it again. But I was shocked at the 35-6 score.

I was a little surprised Russellville beat Crittenden after losing by 2 TDs the week before.

And I didn't expect Leslie to handle Breathitt at Breathitt the way they did.

The way some people were going off about the Class A rankings a few weeks ago ... Newport Catholic over Covington Holy Cross must have been a shocker. ;)
