thanks for the pic @AndOneDad This reminds me a lot of Feds Creek High School Gym. it was a double decker with about this much seating, but the court wasn't regulation length or width. The 3 point line practically ran out of bounds on the sides. Watched some games & played some there as well, Jody Thompson was a Mountain God in that gym & basically any other one he stepped foot in.

This sounds like the cart in front of the horse. How was he playing soccer first, then get ruled ineligible? International Foreign Exchange students have to go through basically the same transfer process as anyone else, but the paperwork that they have to provide has to show that they were processed through an approved agency, have a the proper Visa, as well as be able to show who paid the tuition & fees (including travel) that were required to enter the program as well as other general questions such as is the host family a member of a coaching staff, etc.... I only processed a few of these during my time as AD, and unless you had your ducks in a row (especially for a fall sport) it was quite difficult to get them eligible when it would be beneficial for them or the team.

Isn't a program in existence where if you look hard enough there are "disgruntled parents" Was a member of a coaching staff that won a state title several years ago & not 30 minutes after the championship game, I was having a sidebar conversation with 2 sets of parents that were upset because their kid didn't get into the game as much as they would have liked. :ohbrother:

The AD @ Anderson Co. is a stand up guy, I would never think that there is any behind the scenes stuff going on to try to oust Peach from there. I know that some places the coach doesn't always get to dictate who is on their staff, but I don't think this is one of those situations. Peach has been there for 11 years & if I am a betting man I say that nobody gets on that staff unless he wants them on there.

@ALTCat is correct! East Ridge is the odd man out, because they were 1-4 in a 6 team district along with Betsy Layne who was 0-5. Shawnee is 4th out of a 4 team district.

There was a survey a few years ago by the KHSAA that asked for AD/head football coach input. If I remember correctly, the (3) options were: - playoff structure remains as-is - top 3 in the district make the playoffs & the 4th can find an 11th game - top 2 in the district make the playoffs & the bottom 2 can find an 11th game. We were one of the schools who were gonna be 3rd or 4th & we voted for the Top 2 in each district to make the playoffs. It got outvoted & the current scenario stood.

Especially since East Ridge is 4-6 & didn't make it. :ohbrother:

anyone got any pics inside the gym at Augusta? I've never been there.

I can be found at any of the Fayette Co. schools on any given night, but have wandered out to Scott Co., GRC, Woodford Co., and Madison Central before to catch a good game.

@Jack Lambert move over to the home side stands & go up to the 2nd level. Great views & their fans are pretty harmless. Usually by this time in the season no one is showing up anyway.

Do we know what the tie breaker is? Station doesn't have anymore games, Henry Clay plays Campbell Co. & Dunbar plays Boyle Co. Currently: Bryan Station 4-6 Dunbar 3-6 Henry Clay is 2-6 Either way, someone out of this group is going to play Ryle, Conner or Cooper & the results are probably not going to favor the any of the Lexington schools in this scenario.

I'm sure others with more knowledge than me will chime in, but I'm excited to see what Taveion Hollingsworth has in store for his senior year & saddened that Dontell Brown won't be in there beside him due to a knee injury during the football season. They return with 5 seniors (6 in you include Brown, I'm sure he will be around the team all season)

Dunbar under Bretz is just a soccer machine.

@ 85_Rebel if Rains was still the coach @ Dunbar I would agree with you, BUT he isn't & the defense is absolutely awful. If Boyle wants to put 50+ on them they can.

Thanks for the info, I got on their website & looked at what they do up there. If I am reading it correctly, it seems like everyone is eligible after a transfer if they are willing to sit out half/a little more than half of the season. Not a bad solution, but it does seem like that it would get to a point of being like the wild west up there. In my eyes, this opens up recruiting opportunities if the coach that wants the kid sells it right. During my time as an AD, I sent one student to Ohio. I never received a transfer request from the school that the student transferred to or anything, so me being inquisitive, I called the school & talked to the AD. He told me that since the student-athlete was coming from out of state, there was no reason for a transfer (even though I knew Mom & Dad didn't move & that the student was living with an Aunt) stuff like this just blows my mind, in my opinion & it doesn't amount to a hill of beans, but I feel if you don't meet the simple (and they are pretty simple) transfer exceptions, then you should sit out.

@mcpapa, I got on the OHSAA website & there are several sports that seem to have a quarter or half limit, but it doesn't seem like it would make a difference with the math of remaining games/quarters that are left in the regular season (unless they go into a lot of OT games :ohbrother: )

Can you expand on what "Ohio Transfer Rules" consist of for us that are not familiar with them please.

Woodford beat West Jessamine 3-6, Marion Co. 1-8 & Nelson Co. 0-10, not exactly 3 quality wins at all. Central Hardin should have no worries at all unless their bus breaks down and they have to :walk: to the game. :ohbrother:

Shelby Valley keeps their buses running in the parking lot for this one, Paintsville will have a running clock on them early. the Wildcats will make a quick exit.
