Rebelstat Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 These two teams a have played only 3 times dating back to 2007. Boyle is 3-0 and won 21-14 last year and 55-10 in 2008 and 43-14 in 2007. Thoughts on the game.
Jack Lambert Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 How does Dunbar compare to last years team?
charlesw88 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Dunbar has speed but is very undisciplined. I will take Boyle County by 3-4 touchdowns.
Johnny_Utah Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I agree with @charlesw88 Dunbar doesn't have the discipline to win vs. any decent team at this point. They took a huge step backwards in regards to discipline when Paul Rains stepped down & it shows on the field & sidelines. With wins over 1-8 Jeffersontown, 2-6-1 Henry Clay (the worst I have ever seen them play in all my years, & beating 5A Anderson Co. who is 4-5 doesn't say a whole lot. Even though these aren't the Rebels of Smiths first go-around with Boyle Co., they should have no problem putting away the Bulldogs as an easy tune up for the 1st round playoff matchup the next week vs. Moore.
Rebelstat Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 I'm taking Boyle in this one but will hold off on a score until later.
85_Rebel Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 PLD played Boyle awfully tough last year and expect a similar type game this year. Also, since this game has zero bearing on playoffs for either team, how hard to you really go after this win?
Johnny_Utah Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 @ 85_Rebel if Rains was still the coach @ Dunbar I would agree with you, BUT he isn't & the defense is absolutely awful. If Boyle wants to put 50+ on them they can. PLD played Boyle awfully tough last year and expect a similar type game this year. Also, since this game has zero bearing on playoffs for either team, how hard to you really go after this win?

I have not posted in a couple weeks but since I saw this post I couldn't help but try and answer your question. I think that given the catholic let down and disappointing first half against western hills and some things that I have discussed with friends about bad play we have seen you have to take this victory to set the tone for the playoffs. You have to looks past weather your opponent is strong or not and execute flawlessly in hopes of carrying over to make a playoff run. I can bet with out a doubt central bardstown belfry catholic all will be doing the same. Given the year BC has had it will probably be even more pressing for them to do so than the others mentioned.
