Paul Laurence Dunbar 2016/2017

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2016/2017 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Paul Laurence Dunbar? Remember, please be constructive.

I'm sure others with more knowledge than me will chime in, but I'm excited to see what Taveion Hollingsworth has in store for his senior year & saddened that Dontell Brown won't be in there beside him due to a knee injury during the football season. They return with 5 seniors (6 in you include Brown, I'm sure he will be around the team all season)

I too want to keep up with Dunbar . Should be a exciting season for them.

Guess I see Dunbar a little different than most. I believe they will struggle some. I see it more like 2014/15 season before they got players back. Everyone seems to be missing the fact that they have only 1 player, albeit a very good player, with much varsity experience. They may have several seniors back but they don't have much varsity experience for a reason. Last year Hollingsworth didn't have to deal much with being double teamed, boxed, face guarded, etc. due to the strong players around him. I think he will find it a bit tougher this year without any of his starting teamates from last year. I am sure he will still get his and probably average 25-30 but not sure where the other production will come from yet.

Completely agree with this assessment. Not much help on that roster. I'll take Lexington Catholic or Scott County to win the 11th. Doubt Dunbar even makes the regional tournament.
