  1. I agree with Bluedad, I would hope this is sarcasm, have never heard anything negative about Shelton's work ethic from coaches or even players. Only positive. From what I have seen, from games alone, the kids an incredible talent and works his Butt off. So I hope that was Sarcasm.
  2. According to some, only two kids are actually in the weight room putting in the extra work and they have already been handed the reigns of the team! Get your facts straight lol
  3. I've been hearing a chirp here or there about the situation in Park Hills. Anyone have any details on when they plan to break ground and how long they thinking it is going to be before they put the lights up in PH? Anything helps. The new stadium will be nice considering the Colonels have a FEW nice games next year, from what I hear lol !
  4. Reloaded and restocked as usual. They will pull out another great quarterback from their behind. Blah blah blah. Lol birds will be just fine, like always.
  5. What a pointless and arrogant thread? No offense to these young players, who i believe will have good years, but if the creator of this post really wanted to pose this question, why not ask it on a Covington Catholic page. Not start a whole new one that talks about the kids for maybe four or five posts but the rest are about the team and incoming transfers. Waste of a post. I can assure you their are 30 other kids that will contribute greatly to this team. It's not all about two kids. If I started a thread for every kid who worked hard, this site would be a joke. FF18 out
  6. Hats off to the community for coming together to help this great cause. Truly an amazing thing. Also, I cannot believe the amount of kids in the cheering section. The Crazies were in full force tonight! It was loud, deafening really lol! My ears are still ringing. Congrats to the blue boys!
  7. I don't blame him either. But he did make mistakes, just like everyone does during a game. His were just magnified. I am talking about his interceptions thrown( no one was even close to the ball-but the birds lol). They lost the first time to due to execution. Contrary to popular belief, it was not the white pants' fault lol. Roll Colonels Roll!
  8. Much much better game then the 1st meeting. Colonels D peaking at the right time and Offense is coming back to full strength. Wagner will not make the same mistakes he made the first game. This will come down to what it always does, whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game. Colonels take this 21-17 in 4 quarters of great football.
  9. Earlier in the season, stopping the run was a big issue. As of late though, Colonels have seemed to clean up tackling, and get a consistent push from defensive line, which in turn, has allowed linebackers, JRs Cam Pitzer, Lucas Timmerman, and SO Alex Shelton to have some quality last few games. Speaking of D line, I have noticed that the Colonels have showed some packages with 4 and 5 down lineman with some walked up ends, which as much as I know, is unorthodox to the Colonels base defense 3-3. Stopping the run is far from perfect but it's come along way. Adding more DLinemen and in my opinion, having Shelton at middle backer is the best thing for this team. He has stepped up big and especially for a young sophomore. Believe his first start was either Ryle or Harrison ???and stopping the run has come easier to the Colonels. The Blue Colonel defense has played some very impressive ball games lately and I think they are peaking at the right time. I'll take CCH by 21! Good luck to both sides and a safe drive to all. PS The elements are too much for me as I will be listening to this game on the i radio.
  10. 11th year in a row. Quite an amazing stat right there. Congrats to both teams on a fantastic season
  11. Easy solution - top 2 teams advance to playoffs. No more, no less.
  12. Covington Catholic will pull out a 6 point victory come week 13. Let 'em post it on their board lol. Cov Cath traditionally plays them better the second game and they have changed thei offensive game plan over in the hills. Totally different outcome this time. Now let's see this blow up lol!
  13. Healthy, yes. Just not the arm that Mayer has. I believe McGiinis starts with valuable minutes for both Hentz and Mayer
  14. Wow, what a game. My socks will be roasted over the fire for awhile to get all the water out lol. Didn't stop raining once and made a great atmosphere for a Friday night game. Congrats to The Ryle raiders on a heck of a game. They have some real quality players esp. #7. What a beast. Wishing them the best in the rest of the season. What I did like from the Colonels was that they played a physical brand of football. They didn't quit when their backs were against the walls and they almost pulled a win on the road, against a good football team, with a lot of key players out. Which leads me to my next point. A job well done to all the Underclassmen who played a large role in this game tonight. Sophomores Alex Shelton, Anthony Best, Matthew Thiel (sp??), Hunter Zigelmeyer (sp) and although Frosh QB AJ Meyer played two or three snaps, still impressive to step up as a freshman. And what a ball he can throw. Can anyone give me the official tackle Stats for Shelton and Thiel. Seemed like every other play you were hearing these two kids names! Congrats to the young boys! How about the new formations The blue boys put in. A TE most of the game and even had a full back I believe. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess lol! And for the future of this team, I have no idea what to think??? I think they will win out and recieve number 2 spot in playoffs and head down to Johnson. Not going to get ahead of my self though. Once again, congrats to Ryle coaches and players.
  15. Where do I begin, now I would agree completely that HS coaches should not be fired depending on wins and losses, but Dave Wirth is destroying much more than the Colonels record. I believe he sat out WR Jake Erpenbeck because Jake mentioned a possible play to the offensive coordinator. When you have coaches not willing listen to players, who see it first hand, that's a HUGE problem. That's another thing, Coach Roberts has to go. A hurry up offense who gets more delay of game penalties than anyone I know. The Colonels penalties in red zone is ridiculous. The offensive can't stay on the field and finish a drive to save their lives. Play calling is horriffic. Back to Wirth, after talking to multiple people at the game today, I am know led to believe that it is players vs coaches in the lockerroom. Players blaming coaches and coaches blaming players. It seems to me Dave Wirth has destroyed the Covington Catholic Football tradition and needs to go. We appreciate your time here but are tired of seeing you lose in the 3rd round of the playoffs every year. Thanks but no thanks, FIRE DAVE WIRTH. Possible people that come to mind my if the Kobe did open up would be DC Drew Nochols, who is a teacher at the school. I also heard TEd Edgington's name floating around after the Highlands massacre. Also heard Dixies O Line coach- name??- would be interested in the job. IMO, if you cannot win with the talent the CCH has, you should not be coaching any team. Ugh! I will continue support the boys the rest of the way, but doubting this coaching staff. CCH definetly has a big decision to make in the 3 months.
  16. I didn't know CovCaths QB was named Adam Logan. Heard he can sling it. Lol c'mon river city news, you have to at least get the QB right.
  17. Covington Catholic 35 Highlands 14 Going to be a great game and looking forward to it. Anyone know when presale tickets go on sale?
  18. IMO Highlands should be knocked down a few for there close games with both Campbell and Station to the 3 spot. SK Should be up at the number 1 spot and Catholic at 2
  19. "Heat" lol I heard the Rebels tapped out and just sugarcoated it with the heat. Regardless, Colonels were rolling and weren't going to be stopped. The second half would have been ugly, with a final score around 80. Good luck to Boone this season.
  20. Coach Conrad has done a great job ever since he has come to CCH.
