  1. Have heard much about Fieger. Starting as a sophomore is a big statement. With hard work the boys will get up there. Good luck to them. Also, CCH may have some starting Varsity next year like Shelton. VOnhandorf will have a tough time with B. Dressman in front of him. QB Vonhandorf to WR Alex Shelton was deadly. WR Matt theil mixed very well in this mix. Good things to come.
  2. QB: Barker OL: Crim TE:?? WR: Sam Dressman RB:Luke BIr FB:?? DE:? DL:?? LB: Sam Burchell CB:Morgan SS:Beal
  3. The next few years look to be very interesting. They are going to go by quickly so lets discuss who is the best QB to WR combination for incoming freshman and sophomores. Please do not nag on any kids. We just want to hear who and why they are the best combination. READY. SET. GO!
  4. Found the Freshman Thread. haha. If you cant tell, I am extremely excited about this class.
  5. Tanner Morgan from Ryle. I have heard he has been giving deep consideration. I believe his father has been talking with Coach Wirth more than once. I am not totally convinced that he will come to cch. but don't be surprised if he does. Now about his game: I watched him play twice this year, and one of those was against the colonels (colonels victory). He didn't do much against CCH but i see potential. He has a really good arm. A great arm. He is not a very mobile QB though. As a comparison to Vonhandorf, I would give Cole the upper edge because he is a dual-threat Qb, running and throwing. It also helped Cole to have Shelton and thiel to throw too. Those three were deadly. Tanner only had Brent angel with some other role players. I might add that Brent Angel is coming to CCh to join that deadly receiving core. If Tanner came to CCH and their was a QB competition with Cole. I think Cole would beat him out. Just to much beast to handle. Also, CYF backup QB, Tony Hentz (son of Bill) is a great quarter back and can throw a rocket. CCH is going to be spoiled with QB's for awhile.
  6. Totally agree. Last year was the year we were suppose to know what Sam would be doing but he was hurt on and off the entire season. But this is kinda good this year that he didnt play because other teams wont know what to do. Sam played great in the spring game. He will be threat all over the field. Also Wags may not have they arm power of BIr, but he definitely can run. Now opposing D's have to respect the run as much as the pass if not more. Wags look really welll in play action so that might mean wirth might have running some bootlegs
  7. Shelton, vonhandorf , best, theil, Kuhr, ziegelmeyer, pilger. Also they have Brent angel coming in from Ryle, he is a great athlete but needs to stay out of trouble. And he will have a great career at cch.
  8. Alex played for the CYF and was started both ways as a wide receiver and linebacker. He aslo played a large role in special teams, being an exceptional longsnapper. He led the way with vonhandorf. Shelton probably is the biggest leader in this upcoming class. He keeps everyone motivated and keeps them out of trouble. He has been practicing with varsity This summer, working at linebacker position. Now about the best ever, I would agree that they have the potential, talent, and leadership to be great. They have to get a few game under their belt before we start grading them. I am excited to see ten play and can't wait to see them play as they progress
  9. I am wondering if any will start next year, as sophomores.
  10. Could we be seeing any freshman in starting roles next year?
  11. Anyone know roughly when Sam comes back from injury. I believe he had surgery on his hip. Any date? Congrats to him and this definitely won't be the last offer.
  12. Also, cole does travel around with his team. I have also heard that an injury scare might keep him from coming to workouts. I think cole is leaning towards basketball and I wish him the best in whatever he does.
  13. I would agree that shelton would need for some upperclassman to get hurt to play. He is getting to know the strings of the freshman ball. A big change from CYF although alex made it seem pretty easy last year. I know alex will have a great career at cov cath, and if chooses will play at some small college. So do you believe he will be looking at a possible starting role next year as a sophomore? Or just serious playing time?
  14. Highlands look well stacked as usual but need improvement and may lose key players to other players. Cov Cath is bringing in one of the biggest and maybe best freshman class in awhile. Tons of talent and even more potential with this group. Among them: shelton, and vonhandorf, thiel, Bir, ziegelmeyer, Kuhr, best. These are just a few. They have more that meets the eye. Shelton: a beast on both sides of ball. A true athlete. Will likely play bth ways freshman year but will become a lb once he moves on after Frosh year. He is also an exceptional longsnapper and a great leader. he jeeps everyone motivated. and an overall great kid. He has been practicing with varsity this summer. Vonhandorf: a stud athlete with a great arm. Runs like a bull. I would like to see more leadership out of him, and I sure it will come with experience. He has not been showing up to workouts wether that is related to basketball( his team travels around a lot). He has a dilemma, basketball or football. Questions that I do not know.... Does shelton have a chance of either playing varsity as a longsnapper or getting some time at outside backer? Is vonhandorf leaning towards basketball or football. This class will do great things and I'm excited to see them down the road.
  15. Was shelton the only one brought up, or were others invited to, if so who?
  16. The defense looks a little spotty right now. Mostly injuries(at linebacker) but they look to come together at the beginning of the season. Also, I heard that alex shelton-Frosh has been practicing with varsity. Anyone else hear this?
