  1. I was unfortunalely stuck at work and couldn't get home in time. Glad to here the positives for both sides. Also, really appreciate the post Bluedad. How was OL and LB play?
  2. Sorry?? He did nothing wrong? Aaron saw a great opportunity and he took it. But it was shot down. It happens. I am almost positive Aaron's real friends at Boone understood completely. I wouldn't be afraid to put money on the fact that most Boone kids would love to play at CCH if they had the chance, but that's quite unrealistic considering the talent CCH brings in every year.
  3. A little bit of an overstatement, but Boone last year didn't count on anyone more than Aaron. He played multiple positions both ways. He is definitely the most important player on that roster. Wish him and Boone a very good luck this year.
  4. Anthony Best is a player to watch, currently seeing his reps come at the RB am DB position. Extremely talented kid with a football players mentality. Will be a stud on JV and help some on Varsity. Hearing Zigelmeyer won't be playing for awhile if at all this season. May perhaps have surergy on knee, not exactly what on. ACL?? Unfortunatly for Sophomore Angel, he is stuck behind a very good group of WR's so his playing time IMO is limited to none this year. Brent is a very good player with a bright future just don't think his time is this year. From watching and hearing I believe Soph. Shelton is getting all his reps with the first team at LB. Thinking he will start if not, see the field a whole lot. I'm sure he will also be on Specials too as he was last year as a freshman. Other guys like Pilger, Mayer(sp?), Hentz, Thiel, and Hornsby are all very good young players that may not see a whole lot of Varsity this year, but will definitely carry the JV team and contribute down the road on Varsity. In a whole, the team has a lot of talent, young and old, and more than a few people are really excited for the season. It's almost here!!! Go Colonels and wishing the best to everyone .
  5. Well after this comment, clearly you are a fan. And apparently a fan who has no idea what's going on. You can not tell me that Ryle held back. You ask any player or coach on Any team and they will tell you it was a hard fought game and well worth the price of admission. Also, Ryle Secondary was not better than CCH's WR core, CVH just had no time to throw the ball. Your DLine brought the pressure, not the CB. But let's not forget, it was a FRESHMAN game and really has no meaning now. It will be interesting to see how many players step and play varsity this year. Good to luck to Ryle!
  6. . Well I know which player you are talking about. And it would like to inform you that he has changed his ways, the teachers, coaches, students, and players here transformed him into a respectable young man. That's what CCH does. But I don't know what is more embarrassing, the fact that you would talk poorly about a young man on here or the fact that you couldn't change him. You want people to respect you, how about you in turn treat others the same.
  7. This will be his second season coaching at CCH
  8. I never said that he wouldn't get these at Boone. But you can't hide the fact that CCH is better every year, therefore, Aaron will make it further in the playoffs then Boone. More games equals more opportunity, more opportunity equals more looks from colleges. The education and religious side of things at CCH is second to none. Never heard a single person, talk badly about it. Of course other schools have great academics, and I'm not bad mouthing them, but I have never heard anyone talk as much about the colonel brotherhood more than any other school. Better environment that's all. I said he deserves to go to CCH because it's his high school years, the fact that the KHSAA is going to try and stop this is absurd. Quite laughable really. But no doubt in my mind Aaron ends up at CCH, just a matter of time.
  9. Wrong, Aaron wants this. Aaron knows and is friends with a lot of the seniors at CCH. He plays summer baseball with a few. Let's be real here, you don't think that a senior in HS can make his own decisions. Yes I'm sure Chase sparked the idea in his head, but Aaron liked it. Liked it a lot. But the Floyd's are respectable and understanding people, so they would never put Aaron in a situation that is not best for him. This move to CCH will help with his Recruiting, education, relationship with God, and help him make friends that he will have for the rest of his life. The kid deserves it. And no doubt in my mind that he will be illegible to play with Covington Catholic come season time. Write it down, Circe it, do whatever but Aaron Floyd will be a senior at Cov cath this fall
  10. The Colonels have a 7 on 7 tonight vs Princeton @ CCH at 6, all are welcome I believe. Also, I have heard Litzler will not return this season as a kicker but will remain soccer only. Hornsby (sp?) has been the only player kicking as of now, or so I have been told. But few kids have said they maybe getting another soccer player or two to come tryout. And on Dressman's knee, I have heard anything from torn to just tweaked.
  11. Has their scrimmage schedule come out yet? If so, who do they play and when?
  12. Anyone know when practice starts and pads are distributed?
  13. A big congrats to both teams and all teams in the tournament. Especially NCC and CCH. NCC has some very talented boys who can simply play the game. Cov Cath was just too much to handle. A real thriller from what I heard on the radio. Wasn't fortunate enough to make it to the game-duty calls lol. Good friend of mine texted me shortly after the game and said Bishop for CCH is going to be a good one. He also mentioned something about the floor being wet? Condensation problem again? When is Cov Cath going to fix that? Lol how did they manage to finish the game with condensation? Anyways, congrats to the blue boys!
  14. Believe we will hear Andrew Edgington's name at LB also. Nice player . Think he is a rising 10th grader.
  15. I would also agree that it is too early to pick who the "starters" are. But what I meant to ask is that what position do you think they will be playing when they sub in or if they do start. I think Timmerman and Sammons will be playing majority of their time at Middle, pitzer outside, and Shelton outside? Agree or disagree?
  16. TOG, do you see Sammons playing MLB or an outside backer? Where does Shelton fit in, I believe he was middle for Freshman. Will they plan on moving Shelton to an outside backer spot? Pitzer is outside clearly. Timmerman is definitely a middle backer, he has the body for it. -very big and strong kid.
  17. Bluedad, I believe you have a mix up. LB Ethan Sammons played valuable minutes and started a few games with Burchell injury, not Kathman. If I am right, and I could be wrong but, I believe Kathman moved to DB position.
  18. "This does not mean that you are not able to discuss a team prior to the staff starting a thread. We encourage members to start the 2014 discussion anytime they wish. " Ram posted this so I decided to take the initiative lol!
  19. With all the recent talk about Coach Dave Wirth picking up and leaving, and now that TOG cleared everything up and says he is here to stay. I thought we could start a thread to talk about Coach Wirth's Blue Colonels. I am not as familiar with this team as I have been with the past Colonels teams, so like to hear your opinions. Who does Covington Catholic have coming back this year? What do they need to improve from last year.( especially getting past Highlands) How does this team stack up against teams around the league and past CCH teams? Who will they be looking up to(underclassmen and such) to fill some of the roles that have been left empty by the departures of many, talented seniors. Wish the best of luck to all of those young men as they enter a very important part of their lives! College! Lol We're all excited about this season, so it's never to early to start talking. Wish the best to all teams, young men, and coaches entering this 2014 season.
  20. No Religion at Public schools?? Since when lol. Couldn't agree more Bluedad
  21. Thank you TOG. Best news yet! Couldn't see Coach Wirth leaving Park Hills. Glad someone with a real knowledge has said something about the matter. As for Ryle, looks like Woolf Gets the job.
  22. Maybe even add I'm CCH with Dave Wirth and Ryle. As far as I am hearing.
