  1. So from what I'm gathering is that Wirth is front runner and will take the job? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
  2. The only reason for a potential change would be an increase in salary. He has a wife and kids. I wouldn't consider Ryle a more prestigious football program then Cov Cath, Wirth has brought Cov Cath to a playoff contender school every year. He is consistent. He wouldn't leave because he can't beat HHS. His Frosh just beat them. He realizes he has a lot of good talent coming up through the ranks. So if he did leave, it would not be because of Loses to Highlands. I say Wirth stays at CCH but if he did end up going to Ryle, it would be for money purposes.
  3. Saying Wirth is leaving Cov Cath because he can't beat highlands is an ignorant thing to say. Let's take a look at the circumstances here: CCH Frosh beat Highlands this year. Highlands did not win state and lost there head coach, if anything, this would be the year to beat the birds out of the past years. If Wirth leaves, it would not be because of the Highlands obstacle.
  4. Much respect to Woolf, but Wirth may be one of the best defensive minded coaches in the state. Wirth, if rumors are true, is front runner for the job.
  5. As much as I would hate to Wirth see Park Hills, I hear that it is happening. He has a young family who he needs to take care of. So this isn't a bunch of gibberish. Wish Coach Wirth the best with his decision.
  6. TOG, I really admire all the stats that you bring to us. Seems like you never get a break. Football, basketball, baseball! Heck, do you do stats for the newborn wrestling team also. Lol. Hoping 2014 is a good year for the Colonels.
  7. Would anyone happen to have a list of a few names who did apply?
  8. Oops didn't see Dunbar part lol. Haven't heard about this kid. This "mysterious athlete" must be quite the talent.
  9. Question, Ryle has no HC. Have they started an off season program yet? If so, who is running it? Would be a shame for this Ryle team who has rising talent to be stuck with a doofus head coach.
  10. Totally agree on Hatter. He stepped up and played a huge role on the team. Congrats to him. In regards to the game, I'm not to worried about this game for the colonels. I'm making no excuses for them, just saying that it was their first game. The weather was on off rain, saw a few guys reall struggling with holding the ball and catching it on both sides. And it they are without many key players. The blue colonels will be fine done te road. Coach Edgington with have them back on their feet for CC I believe next week, who they played in a scrimmage. Cooper had some nice players. In surprised on go well try looked. I'm sure they will have their fair share of wins this season. Goodluck to both teams this season!!
  11. Did any freshman dress last night? Thought I heard Shelton did.
  12. Glad to see that a rebel fan stick with his team on this one. I have CCH 56-14. CCH is too much for the Boone boys. It is too early for Boone and their new coach. Good luck to then both.
  13. Looking forward to seeing this traditional opener between the two. CCH has the upper hand and will have a mark in the W column. Wish the best to both teams. Hope they stay injury free. Also will any Freshman be making the bus ride?
  14. Once Burchell and Nelms return, who fills that third starting job?
  15. How was LB play for the blue boys? Did Timmerman get the start at Mike. How did he do? How did they do in a whole and how did the sophomores look?
  16. Ryan is one quick little dude. What was Shelton playing tonight, slot?
  17. Well congrats to the young man on a good game. Is he still at that slot receicver? Or has he change positions. And I will say it again, Tony Hentz is a great QB.
  18. Wasn't able to make the game, due to business trip. Duty calls. Glad to hear that the boys got to play. I heard the weather was questionable for awhile. What player had the biggest impact for his team?
  19. I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not. But can anyone confirm this injury?
  20. Hearing that another LB, Drake Ficke has broken a foot. That makes two down. Who can we look to step up? And how long before Sam burchell and drake return?
  21. All 11 starters names will be called an awful lot. But among the best of them are WR/LB Alex Shelton - he is a stud athlete who is a football player. Has great hands, good speed, very strong and physical. He is also a team leader. Him and Cole will connect for a lot of Td's this year. RB/DB Anthony Best- this kid is fast. He will definitely be a good threat on both sides. Lock down corner. OL/DL Hunter Zeigelmeyer (sp) is a big boy. He is about 6'4 220. And has great doped for a kid his size. OL/DL Thomas Pilger- the kid is a football player. Has great potential and will be a great lineman for CCh. WR/DB Matthew theil (sp)- he is a a very athletic kid with good speed and is a good option for Cole to throw to.
  22. I like the idea. You make some good points but if you look at it, this is the largest freshman class In 40 years and te CYF had great success playing both ways. But Coach Edgington has the learning a defense position and an offensive position because you bever know what they will play down the road. 6 inches and 50 pounds later a lot could change.
