CovCath will be deeper and better so this one should go their way. Boone just not there yet.

Covington Catholic -vs- Boone County was the traditional first game of the season for both teams. Glad to see that they are back at it to start the season again.

 

We will see a very fast team on the field for CCH. I am not sure what to expect from Boone.

Hopefully this game will be more competitive than last year. Was something like 33-0 at Half.

I think CCH will win by double digits but don't sleep on Lamb for BC. He has been the best QB I've seen in 7 on 7's so far.

Current forecast is calling for a high in the mid-90s and chances of thuderstorms from noon on. Sounds like this should give us a good look at how well both teams have done with conditioning.

CCH is 25 -12 against Boone lifetime with their last lost coming in 2003.

 

Does Boone have any kids playing both ways? The weather is not expected to be prime football weather so this could be a big factor. Hopefully it does not get as hot as expected so the game time does not have to be changed.

He was watching from the sidelines on the defensive side the few times I saw him there. Probably more concerned with trying to understand the defensive calls than worrying about committing anything to memory from the offense.

Regardless, Wirth isn't the kind of coach to ask a kid to dish out inside scoop on a school just like I'm sure Griffith isn't the kind of coach to do the same.

High school football especially teams tend to run only a handful of plays anyway this early in the season so it's not going to be too difficult for either team to figure out what the other team is trying to do.
