Boyd County was in control of this game and led practically the whole game until Selby picked up his 3rd foul with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd, Boyd was leading 24-20 and Elliot immediately went on a 7-0 run before Pratt could get Selby back in. That started the Fall, and Timmy Knipp pushed them off the cliff. Knipp may have the best 3 ball on the team:scared: Boyd also had a lot of problems with the Elliot press the second half and missed some very close shots, bottom line, Elliot found a way to win not bad for a bunch of baby faces:D

Wow, read the header and realized how tough it was going to be to not be "right in the thick" of March Madness this year. Russell was on a roll before this injury, and still has plenty of talent to make it to Rupp. There are 6 other seniors on that team and you may write them off at your own peril! Look for the names Ferguson, Harvey, and Mayberry to be mentioned more often this month. Robinson, Blair,Gill,Turner, and Frazier are more than capable of making up the scoring that Jon was doing. To the staff at Lewis County, thanks for your care and concern for Jon tuesday night. Kudos to Mark Hilburn who provided immediate care and got ice on the knee to lessen the swelling and make the rehab easier. Special thanks to Stephanie Johnson who went to the Locker Room to provide extra nursing care for Jon while they were treating him. To Jonathan "SOME RELATION" Van Hoose, ok , I admit I'm partial to this kid. I have been ever since our first nerf ball game in his bedroom. Of course there was the game winners against Boyd County and Elliot County that I'll never forget. I'm not sure what the Raceland technical was for as it wasn't an "obvious" call, but the Russell technical was on Blair, who was called for a foul, and then clapped his hands and said "LETS GO DEFENSE", the referree thought he heard a cuss word, but he must have been using the "old rambler" brand hearing aid as there wasn't one said, that was one technical that should not have been called, the foul yes, the technical no. There were a lot of people on the Russell side "hoping" that the Raceland kid missed all 4 free throws as that sequence could have brought Raceland within 3 points if they made all their free throws and hit a three on the in bounds play. Both teams played hard tonight and it was good to see Scott Gill back for Russell. He was needed, he may have had the best dunk of the year tonight:thumb:

You've been on here post after post dogging the Russell radio announcers for celebrating a kid's injury? You obviously were not listening very well as that never happened, but I'm sure you'll find something else to complain about. You did get the part right about hoping that Raceland missed all 4 free throws, but you failed to mention that the Russell radio crew was rooting for Russell to win from the moment the broadcast came on, wow, what a bunch of homers, I would ask for a refund!:sleep:

Rose Hill has the talent to win, I don't know if they have the experience, and their lack of playing time could be a factor. The Hill is coming, and coming fast, I just don't know if they have "arrived"? Boyd County has some seniors that are hungry, and that can make the difference, you will be able to feel the pressure in this game Boyd County may have to put back up Zorne's favorite "home rim" to make the difference in this game:D

I'm not predicting this, but just wondering, what would be your opinion of Dodd if Russell were to be fortunate enough to be playing in Rupp on Saturday? Would he get your vote then?

Absolutely huge contributions, and don't forget how Jacob Ferguson has stepped up and I willl repeat my claim that Jacob would be starting for any other team in the 16th!:thumb: These 3 guys have more than compensated for the Loss of Gill!!
